Le Madeloc Hôtel & Spa, hotel in Collioure

Just 500 metres from Collioure town centre and a 10-minute walk from the beach is Le Madeloc Hôtel & Spa.

The hotel is very comfortable, clean and well located. Their own description of facilities is honest and true. The staff are helpful, friendly and attentive. The EV charger was a bonus for us, it's a 10.4 KW charger, charged at 10€ for one charge, so our advice is to use the time well. We will definitely use the hotel again.

Collioure is a beautiful place to visit, there are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops to visit. There are 4 beaches and interesting buildings. Apartment Olive & Kin is a short walk into the town, the apartment is well equipped and comfortable we are already looking to visit again later in the year.

Collioure is an absolutely beautiful coastal French small city, not far north of the Spanish border. As such, it comfortably merges French and Catalan culture which enhances its allure as a tourist destination. As an example, we had tapas on three of our seven nights in Collioure. We also food shopped at a number of local markets, which provided a selection of amazing cheeses, wine, bread, and Spanish hams. The beaches are typical Mediterranean rocky, but the water is gloriously clean and clear.

Very nice little village at the sea.

Very nice little village at the sea. Several beaches, lot of restaurants and shops. Very Catalan, close to the Spanish border. Easy to get around, just walking. Possibility to rent bikes, take a boat trip and a lot more. Nice food with a touch of Spain (Catalan) some regional wines an several winerys to visit. The wine is kind of mineral to taste, not the greatest area in France for wine, but ok.

Once you are in the town and parked then there's no need to go anywhere else for a while. There are plenty of restaurants, a great art museum, good local walks, good beaches and it is neither loud nor too large.

Friends had told us how lovely this beach town is, so we decided to stay a couple days. The town is charming with lovely seaside pebble beaches. The old section of town has many cafes and fine dining restaurants from which to choose. Walking is the best mode of transportation. Driving isn't necessary. Once we arrived, we parked the care and didn't use it again until we left.

Pluses and minuses for this hotel. First, the location is in the in the old town of Collioure and we had a nice view of the harbour from our room. That's why we booked it. The bed was adequate and the inexpensive breakfast was classic 2-star fare. Fine, but nothing special. The art in the hotel is super. Paintings line the hallways and you can well imagine the Impressionists staying here in their heyday. Elevator was good. Although the hotel has no parking, their is reasonably-priced pay parking literally four minutes away.

The apartment was as described so no surprises. It was perfectly adequate and comfortable for two of us to spend a long weekend in lovely Collioure. Bed comfortable. All the facilities worked fine. Is about 15 mins walk from the historic centre and 10 mins from the nearest beach. Parking in Collioure is a nightmare so having parking on site a real advantage. There is a partial view of the iconic clock tower, old town and the sea and a nice view of the windmill.

The hotel’s location is convenient for everything in Collioure. Breakfast is superb, nothing is missing and the courtyard setting is wonderful. You get the feeling that this is a well run hotel with well trained staff and (generally) excellent facilities.

The position of the hotel suited me ideally and I was glad I had paid for a balcony and seaview. I have always adored Collioure and know it well ….the break by the sea and the walks will ‘keep me going’ through the harsh winter in the Lot et Garonne.
