Located in Mantanani Island, GreenHouse Lodge provides accommodation with access to a garden. The property boasts reusable plastic materials, using energy-saving lighting and conserving rainwater. I liked everything! The atmosphere is quite and relaxing. You feel as in the family, and a very accepting family! Everything you need is provided for you; Fred and Espi really make your life comfortable. In addition, the wonderful nature around, and you can get kayaks to go to the nearest island to make snorkeling and to see corals and colorful fishes... If you need a rest after the long working year, it is the best place you can choose. No noise, no transport, no crowds, the view of ocean, a very clean beach near the stay. We had a walk around the island, and the best and cleanest beach was near our stay. The food that the owners provide was delicious, everything was home-made, including the bread that I couldn't stop to eat it. I have a food allergy, and Espi cooked for me individually so that I could eat without worrying about it. It is the place that I would like to return there each year! I just want to thank Fred and Espi, his wife, for this wonderful time!

Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan. Everything about our stay at the Last Frontier was absolutely unforgettable. Gert and Jason, what perfect hosting! I have travelled a fair amount in my life yet cannot recall better. Communication was always clear and concise regarding requirements etc.and the information extremely helpful. Jason, the knowledge and advice you imparted during pick up and drop off was excellent. Thank you, and thank you all of the team for all of the delicious food and especially for Baljit's birthday surprise and cake. Of course, she had the added surprise of seeing a herd of pygmy elephants swim across the Kinabatangan river on our early morning river cruise that day - fabulous! Thanks for organising that as well - ha! We so enjoyed the river cruises and wildlife spotting. We saw more than we could have expected - Ryan has developed an incredible eye for spotting things that we could not have spotted ourselves. Aside from the magnificent spectacle of the pygmy elephants we also saw Proboscis monkeys, Crested Serpent Eagles, Rhinoceros Hornbills, Oriental Pied Hornbill, various Kingfishers and other birds, Long and Pig Tailed Macaques, Crocodiles, butterflies and moths of such colouring. It really is a jungle experience at the Last Frontier. All in all, a truly amazing time. We didn't want to leave.

Bayu Senja Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kundasang. The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and bidet. The lodge is so lovely with an amazing view surround the lodge together with the cool, fresh air Our family room was a decent one but the facilities, cleanliness & service provided are topnotch!

Situated in Kinabatangan, Borneo Jungle Adventure features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a terrace and barbecue facilities. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free... I would give a score 20 if I could :) I found this place a bit by coincidence and I honestly could not have made a better choice for my stay at the Kinabatangan river. The lodge is near to the river and I felt relaxed and at ease from the first moment I arrived. The rooms have just been renovated and are good value for money. Don’t expect luxury - you are in the midst of the jungle after all - but they are really decent, clean and far better quality than previous jungle accommodations I had in other places. All the meals are included and you will get plenty of delicious fingerlicking homecooked food. I was welcomed with the greatest hospitality by Linda. She is such a lovely and passionate person and cares a whole lot about the lodge and her guests. She will absolutely go the extra mile to be sure that her guests have the greatest experience. I also met the owner of the place who is a very kind and respectful man. I loved the fact that this is a very warm and personalised experience where you get to know a few other people without ending up in a big group. As for the wildlife we saw plenty of beautiful birds, lots of proboscis (and other) monkeys, even orangutans and a mesmerising experience with elephants coming up close to the lodge. It was absolutely phenomenal and I can most certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit a bit of the jungle in Borneo.

Set in Sepilok in the Sabah region, Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort offers accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. Beautiful resort and great value for money. Large, comfy beds and clean bathrooms. Food is of good standard, and location is amazing, being in-between the RDC and Orangutan and Sunbear Sanctuaries (as long as you are happy being in the middle of nowhere). Good wifi connection and signal, and amazing staff members

Featuring sea views, Maglami-lami Water House in Semporna features accommodation and a restaurant. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bidet and slippers. The lodge offers a sun terrace. It was a dream come true! Everyone and everything was great! Staff is friendly, helpful and polite, they speak very good English, so communication was easy. The room was spacious and clean, and the terrace was the best! No AC, only fan, but it's more than enough! 4 meals daily, afternoon snack was my favorite, unlimited coffee and tea.

Located in Kudat, Tampat do Aman provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. Howard has created a beautiful lodge intertwined with the surrounding environment, going above and beyond for any guests needs, the wildlife reserve he has created is fantastic for bird spotting and if you're lucky enough to be there when he does his edible and medicinal plants tour and traditional rungus lunch don't hesitate.

With mountain views, Sabah Tea Resort is situated in Ranau and has free WiFi. There is a shared bathroom with shower in some units, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. The place was really huge and suitable for big family gathering.The house and surrounding was clean.The mount Kinabalu view was amazing,it is a private area and u will enjoy the privacy.Definitely will come back.
