From the seamless pick-up and drop-off from Sandakan to the incredible activities arranged by the lodge, every detail was perfect. The lodge itself was well-equipped and comfortable, and we were thrilled to find reliable WiFi in the common area. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the river cruises, expertly guided by Linda and her team. Their knowledge and dedication were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure we saw the best wildlife the region has to offer, including the elusive Big 5. Linda's passion and expertise truly enhanced our experience, making each cruise an adventure to remember. A special mention goes to the food – the best Malaysian home-cooked meals we’ve ever had! The lodge graciously accommodated our vegetarian request, and every meal was a delightful culinary experience. This stay comes highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Borneo's jungle while enjoying excellent hospitality and thrilling wildlife adventures. Located in Mantanani Island, GreenHouse Lodge provides accommodation with access to a garden. The property boasts reusable plastic materials, using energy-saving lighting and conserving rainwater. Best location surrounded by nature! Eating delicious food while listening to the sound of the ocean and spending time with the friendly staff is the ultimate relaxing experience. thank you so much everything!!!

Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan. This is not just a ‘business’, it is a passion! Jason and Gert are sharing a piece of the rainforest to help travelers experience wildlife, insects and plants in their natural habitat. Jason and Gert have created a safe and relaxing environment for all guests to experience true nature. The cabin has wood walls and floors - simple design and furnishings, and so comfortable. There are 2 chairs on the balcony, outside of each room, to enjoy the local flora and fauna. The daily schedule is designed for 2 nights, but we wanted some additional quiet time in the jungle so stayed for 4 nights. Jason made sure that we received different meals for lunch and dinner - he really works to make all meals special! The banana pancakes with homemade caramel sauce is phenomenal! The dining room (with ceiling fans) is also a place that you can hang out - have a coffee, read, play cards, visit and/or observe your surroundings. There is always a pitcher of cold and refreshing water waiting for you. There is a terrace off the dining room (no fans) with benches and small tables - great to look out over the landscape. We went on an amazing evening boat cruise every evening (included in the package). The optional sunrise river cruise starts at 5:30 am - beautiful and quiet (additional small fee). During our cruises, our guide/captain Rodel helped us find Pygmy elephants, crocodiles, hornbills, kingfishers, Silver Leaf monkeys, Proboscis monkeys and macaque monkeys. We absolutely loved our time on the Kinabatangan River! Jason, Gert and staff are so calm, friendly and informative. A once in a lifetime experience/place to enjoy nature and learn about/observe amazing Borneo animals in the wild!

Located in Kundasang in the Sabah region, Bayu Senja Lodge provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The lodge is so lovely with an amazing view surround the lodge together with the cool, fresh air Our family room was a decent one but the facilities, cleanliness & service provided are topnotch!

Set in Sepilok, Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort offers accommodation with a year-round outdoor pool and a bar. A buffet, à la carte or American breakfast can be enjoyed at the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

Situated in Ranau in the Sabah region, D' Limbai Cottage features accommodation with free private parking. A terrace is available for guests to use at the lodge. Amazingly friendly and helpful host! Stunning view at mount Kinabalu. Big appartment. Clean.

Located in Kundasang in the Sabah region, Nulu View Cabin provides accommodation with free private parking. This place had a beautiful view of Mt. Kinabatangan and the owners were really nice.

Situated in Sandakan in the Sabah region, Kinabatangan Wildlife Lodge features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. I liked everything! The staff is super friendly and helpful! They have a wide range of activities, the surrounding nature is beautiful, the property is very well maintained! The bed and pillows are nice and comfortable, AC and hot water and even you are in the middle of the jungle no bugs in the rooms! Special thanks to Siti, who welcomed us, arranged our transfers, and took care of all of our needs and big shout out to Irfan— the best wildlife guide!

Featuring sea views, Maglami-lami Water House in Semporna features accommodation and a restaurant. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bidet and slippers. The lodge offers a sun terrace. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Free snorkeling around Waterhouse and equipment is also free(10RM to rent fin though). Dining is amazingly delicious(we had very good crabs).

Located in Kudat, Tampat do Aman provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. We had a wonderful stay at Tampat do Aman- Howard was so friendly and helpful, he showed us around and gave us recommendations what to do and where to eat( Inas café is really good). He cares about the local culture and environment and there is also a little museum about the people there( the Rungus) and their culture. We overall can really recommend staying there!
