Located in Mantanani Island, GreenHouse Lodge provides accommodation with access to a garden. The property boasts reusable plastic materials, using energy-saving lighting and conserving rainwater. I liked everything! The atmosphere is quite and relaxing. You feel as in the family, and a very accepting family! Everything you need is provided for you; Fred and Espi really make your life comfortable. In addition, the wonderful nature around, and you can get kayaks to go to the nearest island to make snorkeling and to see corals and colorful fishes... If you need a rest after the long working year, it is the best place you can choose. No noise, no transport, no crowds, the view of ocean, a very clean beach near the stay. We had a walk around the island, and the best and cleanest beach was near our stay. The food that the owners provide was delicious, everything was home-made, including the bread that I couldn't stop to eat it. I have a food allergy, and Espi cooked for me individually so that I could eat without worrying about it. It is the place that I would like to return there each year! I just want to thank Fred and Espi, his wife, for this wonderful time!

Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan. This is not just a ‘business’, it is a passion! Jason and Gert are sharing a piece of the rainforest to help travelers experience wildlife, insects and plants in their natural habitat. Jason and Gert have created a safe and relaxing environment for all guests to experience true nature. The cabin has wood walls and floors - simple design and furnishings, and so comfortable. There are 2 chairs on the balcony, outside of each room, to enjoy the local flora and fauna. The daily schedule is designed for 2 nights, but we wanted some additional quiet time in the jungle so stayed for 4 nights. Jason made sure that we received different meals for lunch and dinner - he really works to make all meals special! The banana pancakes with homemade caramel sauce is phenomenal! The dining room (with ceiling fans) is also a place that you can hang out - have a coffee, read, play cards, visit and/or observe your surroundings. There is always a pitcher of cold and refreshing water waiting for you. There is a terrace off the dining room (no fans) with benches and small tables - great to look out over the landscape. We went on an amazing evening boat cruise every evening (included in the package). The optional sunrise river cruise starts at 5:30 am - beautiful and quiet (additional small fee). During our cruises, our guide/captain Rodel helped us find Pygmy elephants, crocodiles, hornbills, kingfishers, Silver Leaf monkeys, Proboscis monkeys and macaque monkeys. We absolutely loved our time on the Kinabatangan River! Jason, Gert and staff are so calm, friendly and informative. A once in a lifetime experience/place to enjoy nature and learn about/observe amazing Borneo animals in the wild!

Bayu Senja Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kundasang. The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and bidet. its on top of the hill, with a good ciew of the villages snd the mount of KK. Every facilities are available, and the staff was quiet nice too. I enjoyed staying there, and would be willing to go next time.

Situated in Kinabatangan, Borneo Jungle Adventure features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a terrace and barbecue facilities. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free... Everything was amazing and fun. Plenty of food, great guides and friendly staff. You can’t go wrong with Khai as your guide, he is so knowledgeable and fun. Grace is a wonderful receptionist and Dinki is a fabulous cook. They all went out of their way to ensure that we had a wonderful four days in the jungle. We did fine without any Air Conditioning.

Set in Sepilok in the Sabah region, Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort offers accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

Located in Kundasang in the Sabah region, Nulu View Cabin provides accommodation with free private parking. Great view, superb facilities, clean & comfortable.

Featuring sea views, Maglami-lami Water House in Semporna features accommodation and a restaurant. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bidet and slippers. The lodge offers a sun terrace. The accommodation was much better than what l expected, except the room. The view under the sunshine was fantastic, it's suitable for photography lovers very much. Besides, the food taste was also good even though the variety was not much. However, the most worthy to be recommended was the activities offered by Waterhouse. All the guides are so friendly and helpful, so we can easily enjoy each tour : )

Located in Kudat, Tampat do Aman provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. Amazing place to stay, fantastic owner, close to wonderfull beaches!

With mountain views, Sabah Tea Resort is situated in Ranau and has free WiFi. There is a shared bathroom with shower in some units, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. The place was really huge and suitable for big family gathering.The house and surrounding was clean.The mount Kinabalu view was amazing,it is a private area and u will enjoy the privacy.Definitely will come back.

Paganakan Dii Tropical Retreat features private cottages and dormitory beds in the middle of a rainforest. The hotel has a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. we were absolutely charmed by the place (beautiful jungle view), peaceful place. wonderful attitude of the owner. This is where we felt the best of our stay in Borneo. Who wants to know the atmosphere of Borneo - this is Borneo!
