Beautiful artistic vibe of the place, stunning view of Sakurajima. Love the room decor and atmosphere of the whole building - was a little jarring at first, but the longer I was there, there more appreciative of the little details and the work rhats gone in. It was like staying in an art gallery.

The building itself is all wood traditional rooms with futon beds. The showers are modern and very nice hot water. There is a kitchen where you can make some food and nice common area you can eat and meet the other guests and the lovely staff. All sparkling clean. The staff are the nicest people you can meet and so very helpful! The location of the property is 5 stars, the Isso beach couple of minutes walk behind the property and the river and the green heels in front of the property. The property has some spaces for parking in front of you rent a car.

Situated in Yakushima, 12 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, 屋久の宿 たぐち features rooms with air conditioning. As i have said in my google review, i think this is the best homestay you can find in Yakushima. This is my second time staying with Taguchi and Hitomi san and as the 1st time, they are so nice and accommodating. They gave great suggestions ** i walked and climbed some difficult trails and it took me a total of 14hrs in2 days ** my legs ohh...hahha...and they also offered to pick you or send you to the port for your trip. They did their outmost best to make you feel at home which I said it did make me feel very welcome ^^ Clean and cosy...the room is big and the house is well designed.

Set within a few steps of Higashi Beach and 200 metres of Kaminoko Beach, Guest room Halemakana offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Amami. Wonderful place in such a great environment. The hosts are so nice and welcoming. The decoration is great. The sea view is stunning. You even have a room with a micro wave when you can snack if need be. Several shops around and great places to eat. It is close to a bus stop too and in 30 min you are in Naze the capital. There is a place closeby where you can have a massage too. We absolutly loved it. Thank you so much.

Offering inner courtyard views, Guesthouse Coco Garage is an accommodation situated in Kirishima, 5.8 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 20 km from Ebino Plateau. Very comfortable stay! We got the whole cottage to ourselves and it was very spacious. You can tell the owner has put a lot of effort into the cottage by the decorations inside the house and the nice music that he has already put on when you first enter the house. It has all the kitchenware you would need and they are all very clean and tidy. The owner has given us different style of bread for every morning, they are all very tasty too, I think he has definitely tried them before and given us his local favourite. This is definitely one of the most rememberable stay in our trip.

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. Location is perfect for the famous hiking trails (Jomonsugi / Yakusugi Land). Since it is located in Anbo town, there are convenient supermarkets and restaurants close by. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There are two large shared bathroom spaces, and separate toilets - but I did not feel like I had to wait at all to use them. The bathrooms have many toiletries, and there is even a jacuzzi/bath you can use, which is perfect after a long day of hiking. There is also a lovely, well decorated common space / dining space that can be used. A delicious, Japanese style home cooked breakfast is offered here. Credit card and cash accepted. The hosts - they were the kindest and friendliest people, and made my stay very memorable !! I will definitely come back just to stay here again. I would recommend a little Japanese, but they are very accommodating to English speakers. Perfect place!

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. Satomi, the host, was the most charming and thoughtful person. As a host, she was extremely helpful and I felt so at ease asking her for help with recommendations, help with reserving the ferry off the island, help for changing the drop off spot of my rental car, etc. She took the time to get to know me and ate with us in the common spaces. It was wonderful. The beds are comfy and super private, and they don’t shake. Many fans and air conditioning in the home. Large shower, many cooking utensils, and amenities in the outdoor kitchen. I was scared that I would hear the planes due to the proximity to the airport but I must have heard them twice over 5 days. The decoration is also wonderful and full of stories you can ask Satomi about. For a very very modest sum she made us some onigiris for lunch which was great too 😊

Set 100 metres from Seaman's Beach, 与論ゲストハウス ズッ友荘 offers air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace. This guest house offers free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. You will be taken and returned to the airport. And believe us this is the only positive point. we don't understand how they have this rating on the website/app.

Situated within 1.2 km of Tomori Beach and 5.9 km of Amami Park, 奄美ゲストハウス宇宿サンライズビーチ provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Amami. The owner runs the place alone, but he still went all the way to the airport to pick me up. Despite my very limited Japanese ability, we were able to communicate quite well.. But the most important thing was he helped me rent a small scooter that I surely would not be able to rent without a local person vouching for me. This made my Amami trip really unforgettable and I'm forever grateful for the help I have received here! Also the evening of tasting local shōchū and stargazing was amazing. I will be back!
