Wonderful place. Great location, Beautiful landscape from the window In a small village on the north shore of the island. The highlight is the owner Kimika is one of the nicest people I met in Japan. She is very friendly and helpful. She is a calligraphy artist and she gave us a demo. It was fascinating. We had a wonderful time over there thanks to her friendly and generous personality. I highly recommend staying in the special place. It made my experience in Yakushima.

There's a kitchen to prepare food yourself and I highly recommend nee-san's onigiri for a day out! I love this place and will return there once I can. Stayed at 20+ guesthouses, this one is exceptional.

I enjoyed my stay in Sunrise homestay as the place was clean and comfortable. The host was also very hospitable and generous. There were snacks and shoju on the house! I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise here. We celebrated his birthday with other roommates during my stay. Looking forward to come back here again!
