Great location, Beautiful landscape from the window In a small village on the north shore of the island. The highlight is the owner Kimika is one of the nicest people I met in Japan. She is very friendly and helpful. She is a calligraphy artist and she gave us a demo. It was fascinating. We had a wonderful time over there thanks to her friendly and generous personality. I highly recommend staying in the special place. It made my experience in Yakushima.

Offering mountain views, Yakunoyado Taguchi is an accommodation set in Yakushima, 37 km from Yakusugi Land and 1.1 km from Yakushima Environmental Culture Village Center. It has a traditional, homey feel set against a beautifully mountainside. The smell of cedar in the home is also a nice touch.

The atmosphere is friendly, nee-san is the most amazing host, and will help everyone plan their travels around yakushima. There's a kitchen to prepare food yourself and I highly recommend nee-san's onigiri for a day out! I love this place and will return there once I can. Stayed at 20+ guesthouses, this one is exceptional.

Featuring a terrace with garden views, a garden and a shared lounge, 与論ゲストハウス ズッ友荘 can be found in Furusato, close to Seaman's Beach and 600 metres from Sunrise Beach. Lovely stay along the prettiest stretch of coast. Host is super accommodating and an excellent cook (you should definitely take him up on the dinner offer). Hostel is clean and tidy with a fun atmosphere.

Situated within 1.2 km of Tomori Beach and 5.9 km of Amami Park, 奄美ゲストハウス宇宿サンライズビーチ provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Amami. I enjoyed my stay in Sunrise homestay as the place was clean and comfortable. The host was also very hospitable and generous. There were snacks and shoju on the house! I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise here. We celebrated his birthday with other roommates during my stay. Looking forward to come back here again!
