Beautiful breakfast restaurant overlooking a lovely garden. Great food. Lovely Japanese touches to the architecture and rooms. Perfect location for exploring Kyoto's sights.

Giappo Franca is on a quiet road and still close to everything. When I arrived, the staff were extremely helpful and explained everything I might need to know. Sylvia told me about an art show the hotel was hosting and explained the artist's series of the places in Japan from Tokyo to Kyoto. Very cool indeed. My room was spacious, clean and covered in tatami mats and it even smelled good. I had a Japanese bed and there were instructions on how to use a futon. The bathroom had a nice Japanese bath and nice soaps and shampoo available. There was even a cute little outdoor sitting area outside my room. I had an early flight out of Kansai International Airport and the staff could not have been more helpful in assisting me in finding the best way to get there. The location and the map that they gave me, it was super helpful. The owner were so nice and explained everything in an easy way. The room has a beautiful view.

Yuki san and Tadashi san are very accommodating, and super nice. Tadashi san even went to a nearby event at the same time as us and was sweet enough to translate for us when we didn't understand directions. The facilities are very nice and very good value for money. The hosts also have very thorough and in my opinion very good advice for local hikes/attractions and restaurants! And the view of the temple from the western style room is phenomenal.

The hotel staff helped me called ambulance and translated my situation to medical team arrived. Luckily, my situation got stable soon and I was not need to be transferred to a hospital. The hotel staff helped me changed bed linen and did a quick room cleanup for me. Next morning, they cooked rice congee for me and brought breakfast to my room. Their service was excellent and thanks to their quick response to my emergency moment. They are all professional and friendly.

Designed by Togo Murano, The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike offers spacious rooms centred around a Japanese garden. The rooms are spacious, the room design, and the view were all great. Great breakfast selections, my booking did not include a breakfast, but there were 3 restaurants at the hotel which offered that, one of which was a buffet. I got a recommendation by booking.com to have a shower box, it was not clear if the bathtub had a shower (both did) when switched my booking i found that my room as both a bathtub and a shower box, which was convenient Staff are super friendly The building is a ring shape, where I believe all rooms have a an amazing view of Takaragaike area. The center is a garden. My room view was of trees.
