The Scholar is a newly refurbished hotel located in the beautiful grounds of the Pollock Estate, just a few minutes’ walk from Arthurs Seat, Holyrood Park and the Meadows and within walking distance... absolutely lovely place. very nice staff. comfy bed.

The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped. Some reviewers complained about the noise/vibration caused by the proximity of the railway line. Although we are normally sensitive to street noise, we did not find the noise of from the railway line discomforting. The apartment is slightly away from the Old Town, it is close to a bus stop that is well served by regular buses to the city. This apartment offers so much more than similar apartments closer to the city. The fact that the apartment has an adjacent parking space was essential to us having a hired car. Moreover, just round the corner is an Indian restaurant, Haldi, that is one of the best we have experienced, even when we are well travelled and set a high bar for quality of dining. It is worth a visit.
