This luxurious 5-star retreat has a fine-dining restaurant and romantic bedrooms about 3 km from the Royal Mile. Prestonfield is surrounded by gardens and a golf course. We loved everything: the staff, the housekeeping, the service, the impeccable food for breakfast and dinner. The food at the hotel restaurant was better than Michelin star restaurant. We loved the decor and the specious lobby ( several of them). So many rooms to relax and enjoy a good book with a glass of wine or a good coffee. It is shown that a lot of thought and efforts were invested to make our stay perfect. They succeeded in every way. We felt like royalty.

The Scholar is a newly refurbished hotel located in the beautiful grounds of the Pollock Estate, just a few minutes’ walk from Arthurs Seat, Holyrood Park and the Meadows and within walking distance... Relatively unassuming from the outside, but one of the best hotels in Scotland I've ever stayed in. Friendly staff, modern rooms and really clean...a great hotel that I would book again anytime!
