Melrose
The holiday home has 2 bedrooms, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a microwave, a washing machine, and 1 bathroom with a bath. Towels and bed linen are available in the holiday home. The accommodation offers a fireplace. Pergola Cottage is a lovely place to stay - well-appointed, very clean and perfectly situated for exploring the Borders - the Abbeys, Abbotsford, Traquair House and so forth. And after nearly 2 weeks in B&Bs, it was nice to be able to spread out and have a little more space to ourselves. The bed and furniture were comfy. Having our own equipped kitchen (w/garden view!) and washing machine was especially nice; there’s a small grocer in nearby (and also lovely) Melrose - the Co-Op on High Street - where you can pick up the essentials, like coffee (French Press!).

Lovely accomodation to get away for a quiet retreat. Everything in the pod was well thought out and put together to cater all needs. Smart and simple with a luxury feel. The guide notes were very helpful, and Morag was also on hand if needed. Loved the Bothy/honesty box set up for firewood packs etc - great idea!
The hotel is charming, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was very good, breakfast was enjoyable and everything was done to our requirements. The rooms are really grand, bathroom was luxurious and clean. It's an old hotel in an old building, we loved the experience.
Lovely stay in this great pub. Fridge in room was handy, co-op supermarket across the road. It was a good location for us for the sightseeing we had planned over the couple of days, and easy parking in the village as it is very small place. We loved the bar in the evenings, having a few drinks with the locals. Dog friendly too, which was an absolute must for us on this trip.
The village is a nice place. Attended an annual event there on village green.
Breakfast was quite limited in options but was fine. Staff very helpful. Location was in a nice quiet village.
Loved the quirkiness and the feeling of being 'at home' in a former genteel age. The furnishings and decor was charming. Great walk to the village..andvthe local pub dud fabulous food. Kitchen closes by 8pm though!
Great location in a quiet village at the end of our Pennine Way trip - 10 mins walk from the finish. Steph and Ned went out of their way to help us to dry our wet gear and made sure we'd time for our breakfast and were able to catch our train home. Their home is beautiful with little touches such as Steph's homemade cake and jams. The Scottish breakfast was delicious. We were made to feel very welcome. A lovely stay and we would certainly stay again if in the area again.
We had the best stay! The hotel was juts perfect. Felt very luxurious but laid back at the same time. The food was incredible and staff super attentive. Lauder itself is a lovely little village with everything you need. We went on some lovely walks with our dog and just 30 min drive from Edinburgh. Wish we’d stayed longer!
