Located in Borgarnes, 43 km from Thingvellir National Park, Basalt Hotel provides accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. Basalt is a special place in a special country. Owned by people who grew up in the very valley in which it is nestled, the care in everything they do can be felt. The location is a bit remote but so beautiful and well worth the short drive. The architecture of the restaurant is magnificent allowing fantastic views for dinner and breakfast--and the food was some of the best we had in Iceland. The main concierge/clerk/waiter is a treasure. Knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

Is easy to get there and then is self service so easy check in and check out. Great experience. There is a kitchennette in the building where you can boil water and use the microwave if you need, great plus!

Situated in Reykholt, within 19 km of Geysir and 29 km of Gullfoss Waterfall, Blue Hotel Fagrilundur - On The Golden Circle features accommodation with free WiFi. During our stay, the staffs are really kind and helpful, the hot tub is great, even in the rain, I still felt relaxing, the water was hot. The room facilities are great, we just think that the shower’s glass is wider, cause after taking the shower, the water is everywhere (we don’t mind, it’s might be more work for the cleaning staff tho)
