Such a lovely cosy apartment with windows all round and overlooking Lake Myvatn. It was the perfect place to relax and hope to see the Northern Lights from the big balcony outside. The place was thoughtfully designed as open plan with nice touches such as candles and rugs. The underfloor heating was very efficient and plenty of kitchenware plus oven, stovetop, microwave, washing machine etc. We had looked at slightly cheaper options nearby but I think it was worth paying a little extra for this one. Would highly recommend!

The hotel was nice and everything was first class, with a great restaurant. They also had a coffee machine in the lobby which had every possible coffee (latte, mocha, etc) and this was free and available at all times. The location fronted the Pseudocraters and Lake Myvatn which are amazing. It is also within driving distance of a number of attractions. The staff are very helpful, and also offer a wake up call at night if Northern Lights are visible. Hotel price also included a good breakfast buffet.

The location of the hotel south of Lake Myvatn but very close to the ring road and to all the attractions south of the lake is very attractive. The en suit room is of good size and very clean. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good. The area is flooded with mosquitos, but it is remarkable how the hotel inside is protected. The room window has nets, but somehow the mosquitos do not enter the reception or the restaurant, which to my recollection are not protected with nets.

The rooms, as in all the Fosshotel locations, were lovely. The bar and breakfast area were beautiful, and we loved seeing the sheep that hang out near the hotel. The location was good - although we had a very rainy, misty, cold June day in Lake Myvatn so I cannot say if the views were good (they appear to be). Our only issue was that the construction of the hotel is concrete, which made all the footsteps in the rooms above us rather loud, and my kids had trouble sleeping due to it.

An excellent place to stay next to Lake Myvatn. Located close to Hverir geothermal area and Myvatn Nature Baths (well worth a visit). The restaurant here is superb and the buffet breakfast the best we had in Iceland with meats and cheeses etc. from the farm (there is a very strong farm to plate ethic going on here). The room itself was well sized but cozy and warm (it was minus 13 in the morning so this was important!). Plus you can go and pet the cows and calves!

Great location for exploring nearby attractions around the Lake Myvatn area. Very modern hotel with nice facilities and a cosy bar. Staff were extremely helpful. Our room was large and exceptionally clean with very comfortable beds and large picture windows looking out to a nice view. We would definitely stay here again.

Central location at lake Myvatn. Proper rooms with bath and comfortable bed. We were here in August, so there were thousands of flies and mosquitos which dont bite, so its just a little bit stressful when they invade your head. :) Nothing to do with the guesthouse, just consider this at that time of the year.

Comfortable but small room, large en suite bathroom with heated floor. Excellent location for Lake Myvatn - short drive to all key sites including Myvatn baths, Hverir etc. Close to supermarket, petrol station, pizza and more formal restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out with self use codes.

The property was super clean and conveniently located on the lake. Easy drives to Lake Myvatn, Godafoss, Dettifoss, Namafjall geothermal area, Husavik.

Mývatn trout and lava bread for breakfast. Location is very central at lake Mývatn.

Clean room, comfy bed. Spacious communal areas, hot tub always open and with beautiful scenario on the countryside and the animals. Delicious and generous breakfast with homemade products. We would definitely stay again, happened to see also the Northern Lights on a clear and starry night.

Superb location and accommodation. Well equipped. Plus nice views of the craters, Hverfell and lake. Breakfast was included and was excellent.
