The hotel location is perfect! the staff is very helpful and room is big and we loved the breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel as it is near the centre and it is surrounded by many coffee shops and restaurants.

Windows are soundproof which is important as of the location near to the busy road.

Great place! Many nice things to see (Museums, Palaces and Manor Houses, the Old Bridge, the natural animal and flora habitat of the nearby lagoons, the web of loveable old streets, great river and mountain views, etc). Good (quite central) place to discover the Alto Minho region and the northern half of the Natural Park of Peneda-Geres. Plenty of good (very good!) food choices (a lot of great restaurants: "Brasão", "Sabores do Lima", even the modest "Hamburgueria da Vila"). Quite easy to get around (visit the Tourism Office in the "Cadeia Velha Tower"; just the Tower deserves a visit but there are good maps and brochures too!)
Nice typical portuguese Minho town on the Vez river, just next to another lovely town on the Lima river, Ponte da Barca. History, nature and scenary go together.
Viera do Minho is a great place to stay as you'll have easy access to a lot of landmarks / points of interest, all around the Peneda-Gerês Natural Park. It's also a bit farther away from the Gerês village, providing for a more peaceful and relaxing stay.
Moncao is a picturesque walled town with cobble stone streets and a beautiful central square where you will find a number of cafes and restaurants, including Firminos. We also dined at Restaurant Sabores on the outskirts of town. Both had excellent menus with local dishes and wines. Moncao is also a perfect base for exploring the Minho valley and southern Galicia. There are a number of pictures towns and villages within easy reach including Valenca do Minho, Viana do Castelo, Caminha with beautiful riverbank, Vila Praia de Ancora, Ponte de Lima, Villa Nova, and hill towns with stunning views for the more adventurous. Driving and parking is easy if you are patient and courteous like the locals.

Beautiful views from Axis Ofir. The accommodation was really great. I had ocean views from the entire guest suite, including the balcony and even the shower. I had dinner in the restaurant and loved everything about it. Their cream of vegetable soup was very tasty. I had a salad and the pasta Primavera to finish out an extremely healthy, tasty dinner. In the morning I went to the breakfast buffet and enjoyed the assorted offerings, especially the fresh pastries. Great escape from walking the Caminho Portugués.
Everything! The staff are amazing-very attentive to ensuring a comfortable, serene, and enjoyable stay. We were lucky enough to spend 5 nights at Hotel Paco de Vitorino. The grounds are beautiful and include a large pool. The bed was 10 out of 10 for comfort. . It felt like we were on a retreat, yet close enough to drive to Ponte de Lima, Ponte de Barca, Guimaraes, Braga & explore the Minho region. It was an unforgettable experience!!! Thank you!! The staff at Urban Hotel Estacao are SO lovely -- friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel is RIGHT across the street from the train and bus station, so it's perfect basically for going anywhere in the city or hopping on the train. I was there for a week-long workshop at Univ of Minho, and it was super convenient to catch a bus right to campus. Also the buses are all electric! It's about 5 minute walk to the city center. The breakfast is plentiful and fresh.
Viana do Castelo
I only spent one night at this hotel, , but very much enjoyed my short time here. An enchanting house steeped in family history with beautiful gardens. A very cosy communal living room where Cecília provided me and some weary pilgrims with delicious comforting soup, and a very good breakfast in the morning. The location is great: a few minutes from beaches, very close to the lovely city of Viana do Castelo, and right on the Caminho de Santiago. A real sanctuary.
Ponte da Barca
What a lovely place! There is so much attention to detail at Lodges Minho. The owners have clearly poured their hearts into making this a sensational experience for their guests. The grounds and pool are beautiful. Our studio apartment was gorgeously decorated, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location is an easy walk to restaurants. The hosts were very helpful and made us feel extremely welcome. Best stay in our trip to Portugal!
Apartment perfectly located if you need to go to Universidade do Minho. Kitchen well equipped, a big bedroom, living room and WC. Bed sheets, towels and hair dryer available. You can arrive whenever you want as it is self check-in. Nevertheless, if you have any problems, the hostess answers all your questions by message really quickly. I requested an invoice and received it promptly. I will book it again if I need to come back.
The hotel and the area it is located in is truly magnificient: The Minho region with it's many rivers and streams is lush and green all year round and this is the perfect base to start exploring from. The room was spacious and exceedingly comfortable, the staff were very attentive and the breakfast was plentiful. The only thing missing was some shaded parking, but it is free and readily available, so that is not a complaint.

The hotel was in beautiful location, we could have walks both the river Minho straight across the road and the church and very beautiful old town just over the wall.the people working there were very welcoming friendly and helpful, the room beautiful- a welcome refuge on our caminho walk. The food was really good, top class and the people in the restaurant good fun also.., a very convivial atmosphere.
Valença
Location of the property is within the old town of Valença do Minho with an incredible view. Apartment is perfect for 2 to 3 people (a couple with a child). The place is nicely furnished and the authentic stone of the main wall is a differential. Light is also very good as both sides of it have relatively wide windows. Diana is very welcoming and communication was super easy.

The bed was the most comfortable I had slept in on the Caminho. The mattress and pillow were amazing. Lovely duvet, white towel and privacy curtain. Shelving for stuff, charging socket and light. Big locker with key to lock up your belongings. Shower and bathroom facilities spacious and clean. Nice communal areas.
We were 2 pilgrims doing the Caminho & the hotel was on The Way and on the quiet end of town. . Spacious room with a large bathroom & terrace with a table. The spa offered a Pilgrim’s massage & Anna the masseuse was wonderful! The included breakfast was perfect with many choices.
Incrwdible family owned plce full of kindness and care to details. New and very. Lean facilities. The peace and quiet and only 15 -20.min to Braga and great location to see other parts of the Minho from including Here's national park. Best breakfast in Portugal and homemade 😀
Everything was just perfect. The room was very nice and very clean, the staff was so nice to me and I just felt very comfortable and welcome after my hike on the caminho. Can‘t believe to get to stay in such a nice hotel for that good price.
I traveled for work at Universidade do Minho that was very close to the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really liked the machine coffee that was for free and had many options to choose.
Fantastic location and more like a good hotel than an Albergue. Beds really comfortable, lovely pillows and room very clean. The receptionist was very welcoming after a long day walking on the caminho.
