We are vegetarian and require special dietary needs. We did have a Chef at Lankavi Kitchen who was always obliged. Chef Shaun at Horizon restaurant was amazing; we tasted some great vegetarian food, which he happily prepared for us. The housekeeping staff, Ashok and Ramesh, were terrific and took good care of us. I do not remember many names which I wanted to put there, but overall amazing experience.

It's not exactly fancy but it is quite ok for the price and location. The view from the balcony is great, the bathtub is awesome, the design of the room is nice, nothing much to complain about. The chalet is not managed by the resort, but the personnel handling us is very accommodating, easy check in and out via Whatsapp.

The town is well planned. It's a new township. Clean and systematic. We drove to Sedim river about 30 minutes from Akar Lima property. Not much time to explore Kulim further. Maybe next time we will be back for white water rafting. Public transport was not easily available. Laksa Kedah was awesome. Must try.
5 minutes drive to dataran Lang whereby jetty to kuala kedah Shopping mall( forgot the name) sell duty free chocolate that cheaper price from airport! It's a bit far from pantai Chenang driving takes you 20 minutes if you are beach lover.tomyam is everywhere.
My trip to alor setar in march was the best trip ever..because of the sakura kedah season...the flowers were in full bloom and i was so amazed...its like visiting japan during the sakura season...
Alor Setar is a nice place for you to chill and run from busy town like Kuala Lumpur. Eventhough it was very hot but it was still acceptable. Places to visit are too far from town area, there few in town area for example Zahir Mosque, Alor Setar Tower, and Pekan Cina. But for those who wanted to explore more in Kedah, they might need to hire a car or maybe if you can get uber/grabcar, that would be nice. Uber was still new when I visited Alor Setar. DO NOT take taxi. From Aman Central to my hotel was actually like 10 - 15minutes walking but due to sudden rain, I took taxi to go back to my hotel and it costed me around RM10. I was really shocked! There is one of the local people told me, they are not the actual taxi, they called themselves as 'Kereta Sewa' which is hired car. That was why it's too expensive. Thank God, Uber service is available in Alor Setar. If you have more time in Alor Setar, go and visit Kuala Kedah, (20 - 30 minutes driving from town) you can find more good food there and maybe you can go to Gunung Jerai. It is 12km to reach at the top of Gunung Jerai. So, it is better for you to use your own transportation. Basically, it was all okay. Kedah is still lack of exposure, so traveler, you can go and start to explore Kedah!

Developing new facitities. Theme park under construction. Was informed that a new vehicle ferry service was just launched...(23.12.2017) trip from Kuala Kedah to Langkawi. Currently there are two vehicle ferry services from Kuala Perlis to Langkawi. Hence: just drive your vehicle to Kuah Langkawi.
Not too much can enjoy in Jitra..but the view was very nice..as for known Kedah Darul Aman also have been known as Negeri Jelapang Padi. A lot of paddy field that u can see along the way there..for food its very easy to find because there have a lot of restaurant included Thai restaurant.
Frazel Heritage Hotel has a unique architectural charm that stands out. The breakfast spread is fantastic, truly satisfying guests' food cravings with a range of delicious options. However the pricing feels a bit high for a property in Kedah especially when compared to more bustling locations like Penang or KL. While parking is available on-site, spaces are limited during peak occupancy. Overall, a pleasant stay with some areas for improvement.
This is the best hotel I would recommend, and the best hotel I would loved to go every time I touch down to Kedah .The room was so spacious, friendly staff , and one of the Malay man receptionist gave us an upgraded room which was the Avenue suite 1 room 801 which mostly like is a VIP room as we were regular customers thank you so much, really appreciated.
Location strategic, the place is nearby menara kedah & Aman Central. The room is big very suitable for fmly with kids. have pool which can spend time with family but need to wear swimming cap and swimming suit, but if you guys don't have it? You no need to worry because you can rent it there (depends on availability)
The hotel was so nice. Despite it has been in operation for 10 years, the room is still okay. There is nearby shops for breakfast, lunch and dinner which was very accessible. Bank, mini shop also is in walking distance. Will come back again when I'm having another short tip to Kedah!!

We used this as an overnight stop as it was a half hour car ride from Kedah to get the ferry to Langkawi. The hotel was amazing and the room was huge. Would highly recommend staying here and located near the mall which is nice to go to and unwind.
The location of the Hotel was a bit difficult at first. Even though this was my first Hotel in central Kedah, I liked it. It's close to the outside food court. Breakfast was sufficient and had many choices.
This time i chose the biggest room, all this while selalu chose a small room je. def worth the money. receptionist tip top. LOVED my stay. def my go to hotel if i go back to kedah.

It was right on the beautiful crystal clear beach, great shallow waters perfect for kids, the pool had fun play area for children. The rooms were well maintained and very peaceful and quiet surroundings. It was a really nice place to come and relax at.
Staff were lovely and really helpful from the guys at reception to the Sports and recreation team who helped us book some activities during our stay Hotel is right beside the sky cab and sky walk which was very convenient for a visit
Good private beach, not many people there, scenic views and clear water. Nice territory to walk around the resort with some animals which we didn't encounter before (water monitor). Kind and helpful staff, food and drinks are really top quality - I think they have good value for their price. Room was also very comfortable and there was nearly everything needed. There are many small details which made our stay here really comfortable.
