Oh my what a trip. Hard to find a place with mote character and friendly staff. Novels are written about places like this. The bar, the room, the food, and the super kind people. We were travelling with 2 young children including a baby, albeit out of season, and we had a ball.

Our room and our bathroom were very spacious. The breakfast was hearty and tasty and the food at the bistro where we went every evening was varied and good. We were lucky to have live music one evening at the bistro. The staff were all very kind, helpful and agreeable. For our purposes the hotel location was perfect. We didn’t have a car so it was important to be close to the ferry terminal. We hiked and there are loads of hikes that can be started from the hotel ( no real need to get a bus). Alternatively the bus stops are just on the doorstep if you want to visit the other parts of the island

Excellent location for Ayr town centre and close to restaurants and shops. Plenty of space for family without feeling claustrophobic, balcony good for sitting out for a cuppa after a long day. Quiet area at night, ideal for the kids sleeping. Plenty of kitchen appliances at your disposal.Nice touch with the welcome pack on arrival. Clean and tidy apartment which definitely met our needs. Would definitely use again if visiting Ayrshire in the near future.
Perfect base for exploring Ayrshire and Scotland in general. Close to the beach, town, arcade, restaurants, fields, golf...list goes on. The apartment itself has stunning views and huge high ceiling rooms. Only downside would be the stairs if you are less able, but not an issue for us. The owners are really amendable and on hand for any questions or issues via WhatsApp, phone or email. This was our second time here and wouldn't hesitate to book again!
I’ve stayed in countless 5 star & boutique hotels, but they could all learn the meaning of ‘immaculate rooms’ & ‘great service’ from the Retreat at The Knowe Auchincruive Estate! Perfect venue & location for walks in the country or along the coast - my stay wasn’t long enough! Annie the host, was absolutely lovely & highly knowledgeable about the Ayrshire area! She couldn’t do enough, and the breakfast was fab! I will definitely return!
Prestwick
Fantastic ground floor apartment with lots of nice touches / extras and also access to the lovely garden area . The property was very straightforward to find and there was great communication from the host. This is situated in a great location with very easy access to facilities in Prestwick. It also has great transport links for visiting the Ayrshire Coast and the centre of Glasgow.
Having previously used the hotel for business meetings I knew the standard was very good. Football takes us to Ayr and Kilmarnock and we have stayed in Ayr previously when in Ayrshire but noted that the Kilmarnock venue is a far better deal, better hotel, better location with good parking facilities. This was our second visit in the last four months and are booked to return next weekend.
Brodick
Good value apartment - bigger than expected. Very convenient location for buses, shops and ferry. Check-in and out straightforward and was shown around the apartment on arrival. I was at the back and top of the building but still had views along to the ferry port and distant mainland Ayrshire beyond, as well as to the hills above Glen Rosa.
A great many thanks to the team at Marine Troon for a lovely 2 nights. The room was lovely, and the food at dinner and breakfast was great. All the staff were welcoming and warm and a special thanks to Mary who arranged for flowers to be put in the room for my wife! We will definitely return to this hotel when we're back in Ayrshire.
Breakfast was typical scottish style menu. We had a meal in the Aura on the first night which was good but we ate out on our second night. Swimming pool was good. Hotel uses lovely toiletries everywhere which is nice. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful! Location is lovely part of North Ayrshire.
Prestwick
This is a lovely apartment with excellent facilities. It also has a great patio area which was well used during my 2 week stay. Shops & restaurants are on your doorstep, and the location is a great base for exploring the beautiful Ayrshire coastline. It is also very convenient for bus / train links.
What a gem. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The hotel was attractively decorated and had a lovely beer garden. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order using locally sourced ingredients. The Ayrshire bacon delicious. Evening meals were also cooked to a very high standard.
West Kilbride
This apartment is great for a family wanting to stay in the West Kilbride area. It would be very good for those attending weddings at the Seamill Hydro. It has good access to the Ayrshire coast and Glasgow for day trips. The apartment has all the amenities of home.
Rooms spacious. Double sized baths. Great views and staff are very helpful. Altho live Ayrshire, great place for a couple getaway from the kids :)) Cocktails selection is amazing and all facilities are second to none

Lovely modern apartment. Very clean and comfortable. Great base for exploring Ayrshire and access to local ammenities in Prestwick. Main St just round the corner. Would definitely consider staying here again.

The location was perfect for our visit to the Ayrshire Beer Festival, a short ten minute walk from the apartment. The apartment had all the facilities you could need for your stay.
Clean apartment. Comfy beds. Buscuits/chocolates/Irn Bru was a nice touch. Liked the Burns pictures & souvenirs and tbe different photos from around Ayrshire
