Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan. A boutique resort on top of the hill with good views. This resort is well maintained and clean. The team is helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious with good mix of local and western. We had an amazing stay and river cruises with them.

Bayu Senja Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kundasang. The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and bidet. Extremely helpful staff members - did our washing for us with a rapid turn around, moved our suitcases to our new room on the second night, helped us with transport to the national park etc. Clean rooms with efficient fan and comfortable beds. Free bottled water provided, with beautiful views of sunset from kitchen and terrace. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Amazing place ! The guide ( forgot his name, he just started working here ) was very professional and knowledgeable. Good food and very friendly staff . Free Airport pick up and drop off from Sandakan was very convenient .

Set in Sepilok in the Sabah region, Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort offers accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. Really amazing place to stay near all of the sights in Sepilok. I chose to walk everywhere and it seemed to be in a pretty central location. Food was tasty and staff was friendly.

Situated in Sandakan in the Sabah region, Kinabatangan Wildlife Lodge features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The room was really comfortable with everything needed. Good breakfast and dinner, there was enough food and it was good. The price for the dinner (35 MYR per person is very reasonable in my opinion, especially considering the remote location). We really enjoyed the river cruises. One of them was the highlight of our trip to Borneo as we got to see the herd of pigmy elephants. The boat driver/guide was very excited as well, he changed the position of the boat numerous times while we were watching the elephants so that we could do lots of wonderful photos.

Located in Kudat, Tampat do Aman provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. I was told of this place by a fellow traveller and I'm glad I listened to her. I loved that it felt like I was off the beaten track. Howard and his family made me feel so welcomed as soon as i arrived. He spent time with all guests each day having great chats. There's plenty of various types of accommodation. I stayed in the longhouse and it was fantastic. Howard is also highlighting the Rungus people (the local indigenous tribe) I loved that Howard is managing the place with an eco consciousness, starting with the compostable toilets! On one of the mornings I even participated in International Coastal Clean Up day along with all the locals at the local beach. I'm happy I stayed the 3 days. I definitely could've spent more time just doing not much but had to get back to catch my flight home.

With mountain views, Sabah Tea Resort is situated in Ranau and has free WiFi. There is a shared bathroom with shower in some units, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. The place was really huge and suitable for big family gathering.The house and surrounding was clean.The mount Kinabalu view was amazing,it is a private area and u will enjoy the privacy.Definitely will come back.

Paganakan Dii Tropical Retreat features private cottages and dormitory beds in the middle of a rainforest. The hotel has a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. Hotel net, amb zones comunes molt agradables, personal molt amable i predisposat (ho faciliten tot molt). Està apartat del centre, fet que li aporta un entorn molt agradable. No obstant, ofereixen moltes facilitats per poder fer les activitats, inclosos 3 viatges diaris gratuïts al centre. El menjar era molt bo.
