Offering a restaurant and a bakery, Hirschen Wald is located in the village of Wald and features rooms with free WiFi. Everything was perfect. People are friendly, very quiet, beautiful location.

Surrounded by the Hoher Kasten to Säntis Mountains, Gasthaus Bären Schlatt offers rooms with views of the mountains and Appenzell village. Absolutely wonderful property. Sensational location, wonderful staff, great food and great room. No praise too high. Deserves 11/10.

Surrounded by hills and mountains, the family-run Landgasthaus Neues Bild, Eggerstanden occupies a historic building, a 10-minute drive from the centre of Appenzell. Better than expected. Trails nearby. Easy parking. Room was very comfortable and updated. During the summer, it was nice to have a fan in the room. We had a great dinner on one night. The host and staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would gladly stay here again.

Surrounded by untouched nature, the Waldgasthaus Lehmen can be found 4 km from Weissbad in the canton of Appenzell. It offers Alpine-style rooms and a charming restaurant terrace. We stayed 2 nights beginning of June. If you like traditional places, you should visit Waldgasthaus Lehmen. You would be surrounded by natural forest with a view on Appenzell Alps. One of the most common sound during the day is various bells on cow necks. We were lucky to see how Appenzell farmers bring their cows to the mountains. The farmers have very beautiful cloths! On Saturday we saw a group of farmers, who came in their traditional dresses to Lehmen restaurant and had a few hours of singing and enjoying food. The restaurant is very good, if you like Swiss food. You must be hiking in that region, otherwise food might be too heavy. I had pork steak, pork schnitzel and beef steak with noodles and mushrooms. All dishes were very tasty. You have to try local beer! And Lehmen whisky! Highly recommended! Very nice! Service is impeccable, fast and attentive. All personnel is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful! I would prefer, if it started at 7 instead of 8… Our room 17 was great, soft pillows, comfy beds, bath, simple but cozy design. The hotel has a playground for kids. Parking is huge.

Ubytovanie Ferienhotel Idyll Gais sa nachádza v destinácii Gais 17 km od miesta Olma Messen St. Gallen. Excellent building. Just how one would imagine a typical Swiss village house. I regret that I didn’t spend more time in the area. Good breakfast. Clean and perfectly maintained. I will definitely go back.

Eichberg’s Landgasthof Hölzlisberg has a barrier-free restaurant that serves seasonal Swiss and international cuisine. The Eichberg bus stop is 1 km away. I like the property and the host and the location up hill ,beautiful. Feel home 🏡. It’s really traditional classics hotel and the owner so kind to us . She willing to open the restaurant just for us as we can’t go outside because of the weather to cold. It’s was last minute to order food and she really helped us. The day check out she did send us to train station 🚉. Thank you 🙏 so much to her kindness and hospitality. Definitely I will comeback again . Will recommend to others.

Situated 1.5 km from the Schwende ski lift and 3 km from the Ebenalp ski lift, Loosmühle features a bakery, a snack bar and a café on site. The location is pretty much perfect. Staff is also very helpful

Right next to the slopes of the Unterwasser-Wildhaus Ski Area, the Schwendi Lodge is a historic wooden building offering free Wi-Fi access and a garden with a sun terrace. Amazing place. Lovely owners, great people! Fabulous breakfast. Stunning view of the mountains.

This traditional guesthouse in Alt St. Johann is just 500 metres from the Sellamatt Ski Lift. It includes a restaurant serving classic Swiss cuisine and offers free Wi-Fi in public areas. Nice breakfast - not too big but adequate, good room that does the job. Friendly staff and value for money was okay considering it was hight season. All in all perfect for what we needed.
