First off, consider staying at least a few days. You will be sorry if you spend only one night here. The hotel is in a very cute village overlooking the Saentis range with a breathtaking view. Even better than the view is the restaurant. Great breakfast will be prepared for you in the morning. The restaurant in the hotel is one of the best in the region. The room we stayed is perfect, recently renovated, modern bathroom and with a killer view. Also, the sensitivity of the hosts to allergies has been very welcome. My wife suffers from celiac disease, and we were able to get fresh glutenfree bread as well as recommendations for dishes suitable for her throughout our stay. Very pleasant surprise.

It’s also only half an hour walking distance from the Iltios station which will take you directly to Chäserrugg and I highly recommend the walk. I mostly enjoyed the chat with the owner, who is really nice and friendly. She was kind enough to share her recent travel experience to China with me (yes I am Chinese).

This traditional guesthouse in Alt St. Johann is just 500 metres from the Sellamatt Ski Lift. It includes a restaurant serving classic Swiss cuisine and offers free Wi-Fi in public areas. All rooms overlook the Churfirsten Mountain Range. The location was great. Even though the location is slightly off the beaten track there is easy access by a half hourly bus service. Handily situated for the chair lift to Selamatt. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The evening meals were good value and the menu although not large had sufficient choices. Breakfast was good but would have liked the option of some cold meats.

The room including the bathroom is very clean. The breakfast is good. We really enjoy our staying here. Also the Seealpsee is sooo beautiful.
