Built in 1888, The Prince Albert Backpackers & Bar is a heritage building with free Wi-Fi, an onsite bar and restaurant and a cafe on weekdays Prince Albert Backpackers is a 5-minute walk from Nelson.... All Staff were great. Couldn’t fault them. Had everything we needed. Cafe downstairs was amazing! Awesome coffee!

Featuring a garden, a shared lounge as well as a terrace, YHA Nelson is located in the centre of Nelson, 600 metres from Christ Church Cathedral, Nelson. Friendly and helpful staff were very proactive and accommodating with our large group. We had our own kitchen and dining area to meet in. They also rearranged rooms to meet our needs. The location is great in the center of Nelson, right next to grocery stores, shopping, and the Saturday Market. Everything was kept impeccably clean. Thus was the best hostel we stayed in New Zealand! They were also very helpful in arranging outings for everyone. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

This hostel offers free unlimited Wi-Fi, a log fire in the guest lounge and heaters in all rooms. Guests can relax in the hammock in the garden. The free chocolate pudding and ice cream on both nights we stayed! Additionally the whole place had a wonderful vibe and was a lively, welcoming place to stay.

Bridge Backpackers is ideally located in the centre of Nelson, and offers a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. Everything was clean, the rooms are good and the staff is friendly

Set in Nelson, 700 metres from Christ Church Cathedral, Nelson, The Palace Backpackers offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. sitting out on the balcony where some other backpackers sat to chill out in the afternoon. Everyone I met were amazing, friendly and very interested in why my Husband and i were in Nelson. The uphill was a challenge but doable, the parking was hard as we had a big 4x4 but again it was doable. The owner of The Palace was a pretty cool down to earth person. We enjoyed our stay and we will go back again.

The owner is also a great and interesting person to talk to. The atmosphere is relaxed. It’s clean and very comfy. Check it out!

Downtown Backpackers & Accommodation is situated in the Nelson City Centre district of Nelson, and is less than 1 km from Trafalgar Park. The bed was very comfortable and we were warned about the noise which wasn't too bad Apart from that we totally enjoyed our stay.
