The host was wonderful and incredibly friendly. Overall, everything was great, and we had a delightful stay.

Each room is equipped with a terrace with garden views and free WiFi. Very clean property with extremely well maintained amenities. There is also a laundromat downstairs and 2 convenience stores nearby making the location ideal in terms of efficiency. The host were also extremely hospitable and kind.

Super cheap bike rental. Great breakfast deal with the cafe. We liked walking around that area, really friendly locals. We had a really great stay! Fyi if you want to watch the fishing with the birds, you can cycle to it quite easily. When facing up river, if you go to the right hand side and walk down the pebble beach to the shore, you get an amazing view!!

It lies in a residential area not far from the city center of Takayama, thus it’s quiet in the night — and I slept really well in a comfortable bed. Everything was always clean and the kitchen has a lot of utensils in case you feel like cooking yourself. If not, Taku, the host, has a lot of recommendations for good meals around town. And hikes (!) if that’s your thing. He made my stay at this beautifully thought-out and crafted place truly worthwhile, arigatō gozaimashita.

The guesthouse owner is super friendly and has had years of experience in hosting travellers and travelling. The rooms were cute and cosy with good bedding and lighting. There is a well-equipped kitchen too. It is conveniently located near the train station and a short walk to the old city.
