I loved everything about this place. Absolutely the highlight of my trip. And funny enough, there was no other guests so I had the whole place to myself! The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

The husband and wife of the property live next door and were very kind and attentive to our needs. We were running late to see the Ukai show so that helped us with a speedy check in process. We have been on a motorcycle road trip and I can’t say how well we slept at this property. And they have a lovely dog that entertained us too. We will definitely be staying here again on our future road trips. I highly recommend staying here. Rooms are clean, showers are great, and great company. They have motorcycle parking too!

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. The owner was really helpful, with a lot of good recommendations for things to see and visit. The hostel in really good condition with comfortable beds and lockers should you need them. Definitely recommend this place for staying in Takayama.

The location is very good. Right at the down town. There’s a paid parking in front of the place. Everything’s clean and neat. And the staff was nice, we arrived early and we can checked in early. It was very helpful since we were traveling with kids.
