Guest House Zen is a beachfront property situated in Yamanakako, 18 km from Fuji-Q Highland and 21 km from Lake Kawaguchi. This was the best stay of my 15 day Japan trip. I frankly did not expect this place to be this good. Location: You cannot ask for a more scenic location. The room window (I had opted for the room with a view) opens in front of the Yamanaka lake which is bang opposite the full view of Mt Fuji. You can only think of such views in fairytales. You can take long walks along the perimeter of the lake all day long, admire Mt Fuji, spend time in the cozy kitchen of the guest house while enjoying a free cup of coffee or cook a meal. The supermarket is 5 mins away by foot where you can stock up on some food or beer. Some restaurants are nearby but they close pretty early in the night which is not an issue since the supermarket is nearby. Host: The host speaks fluent English, is a very kind hearted man who genuinely wants the guests to have a pleasant time at this guest house. He gave us a detailed tour of his house and informed us about the transport and facilities. Mistakenly, I had opted for a single bed but he did not charge me anything extra to accommodate two of us. The public transport is not that frequent to get to the guest house so plan ahead. The buses run daily to the guest house but you must learn about them early on. You can surely rent a car and reach here without any hassles.

Offering a shared lounge and mountain view, Guest House 合歓木（ねむ） is set in Hokuto, 41 km from Canora Hall and 34 km from Kamisuwa Station. Beautiful peaceful guesthouse with everything you may need. The owner is a lovely lady who was incredibly helpful.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Arakura is an accommodation set in Fujiyoshida, 7 km from Lake Kawaguchi and 25 km from Mount Fuji. The room was big and werm, the futon comfortable. The guesthouse was very near Chureito Pagoda for those who want to be there early in the morning for a clear view of Mt. Fuji. It’s right actoss Shimoyoshida station, which is very convenient.

Located in Fujikawaguchiko, 1.7 km from Fuji-Q Highland, Fuji Guest House Ao provides accommodation with a shared lounge, private parking and a terrace. 10 mins walk to the station, beautiful rooftop garden, lovely staff. The dorm bed looked a bit small in the pics but it was actually really comfy and quite adequate when I was there. The hostel also provided some snacks and tea, coffee.

晴家(HALELUYA) Guest House in Fujikawaguchiko provides adults-only accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace. a guesthouse owned by a super kind family. the dormitory is spacious and very comfortable, you can easily meet the other travelers. the owner is always there to answer questions and give tips on the area. on a clear day, from the balcony, you can see Mt. Fuji. The free bikes is an amazing idea, it’s easy to get around with it and you can do a lot of things in the area! i loved every bits of my trip.

Featuring a shared lounge, Hana Hostel Fujisan is set in Yoshida. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, and buying tickets for guests. Incredible hosts that went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect.

Renovated in September 2018, Guesthouseほのぼの offers an accommodation with free WiFi in Fujikawaguchiko, 1.3 km from Lake Kawaguchi. The owner is incredibly nice, the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were spacious, the common area was relaxing, the kitchen facilities were fantastic. Being able to rent bikes for 1000 yen meant we could all get around alot easier, we definitely saw alot more of the town and the mountains than if we didn't stay at this hostel. Definitely the best hostel I've stayed at and I hope to come again

Open from July 2017, Guesthouse Murabito is nestled just a 2-minute stroll away from Lake Yamanaka. What I liked about the property was how comfortable I was able to be and how warm and welcoming the staff were. This place is very special and dear to me because not only was the location great but the staff were so accommodating and this place had so much charm to it. The facilities were great as well super clean and sanitary beds were great and I felt very safe here. The best part was having coffee and chatting with the owners Keisuke and Marino. Great people with great stories, I could definitely talk to them for days straight if I wasn’t backpacking throughout Japan. Overall Yamanakako is a hidden gem and there is no better place to stay and experience it than Guesthouse Murabito.
