This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Well located a few minutes away from the station, with a supermarket 1 minute away and easy access to nature. Everything was convenient, clean and pretty, but above everything else was the owners kindness. Constantly present and helpful, they were a delight and an absolute pleasure to chat with. I intend to come visit Akita again, I don't know when, but I'll make sure to come back to this hostel.

It is located 47 km from Appi Kogen Ski Resort and features luggage storage space. The guest house features family rooms. Lots of room, a whole different vibe than a hotel. Host was very accommodating when it came to checking in a little early. much appreciated.

It also has a few entirely modern conveniences which we were less interested in :-) but for people like us who really are interested in the Japan of the mid 20th century, it’s an absolutely delightful stay
