Situated in Nikaho, within 1.6 km of Kisakata Harbor and 7.6 km of Konoura Harbor, やまおう 宿＆カフェ features accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Amazing homestay in the Japanese countryside. The owner went above and beyond to make me comfortable during my stay. Definitely stay here if you have the chance!

ミロクハウス, a property with a garden, is situated in Daisen, 10 km from Omagari Station, 22 km from Kakunodate Station, as well as 41 km from Tazawako Station. Very clean, friendly place. Visited Akita for the Kanto Festival in Akita city. It is about 1 hour drive but was no stress. The town of Misato is famous for spring water and amazing sake.

みんなの実家門脇家 provides a hot tub and free private parking, and is within 10 km of Akita Station and 14 km of Omoriyama Zoo. The house is beautiful and in a nice neighbourhood. We got a warm welcome and enjoyed the stay very much. The view into the garden was like in the picture - lovely. The tatami-room was elegant and cozy. We were happy to enjoy the hospitality of the host family. Arigatou gouzaimasu!

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel right at home. One of the highlights was the breakfast, which was available at a very reasonable price and tasted great! The room was cozy and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. I also loved the convenience of the mini-store inside the guesthouse, where I could grab snacks like ramen and beer. Another bonus was having access to a laundry machine, which made my stay even more comfortable and convenient.

Well located a few minutes away from the station, with a supermarket 1 minute away and easy access to nature. Everything was convenient, clean and pretty, but above everything else was the owners kindness. Constantly present and helpful, they were a delight and an absolute pleasure to chat with. I intend to come visit Akita again, I don't know when, but I'll make sure to come back to this hostel.
