Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. Very clean, well equipped rooms. Really nice staff :)

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. staff was wonderful and island was beautiful! very accessible to everything and most tours pick up right at hotel.

The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. Clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Beautiful pool and terrace area. Abundant and good quality breakfast. Good location for exploring Sao Martinho. Decent parking facilities too.

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city centre and boasts contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. That was my first stay at Madeira - and it was the perfect beginning of the vacation! We’ve been upgraded from a seaview room to something - i don’t know - similar to penthouse seaview, featuring huge window and terrace with ocean and pool view. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, room is clean, new and comfortable. There’s a comfortable parking garage, make sure you’ll pay for it at the reception, it will be cheaper (8 euro/day)
