Takao Kanko Hotel ligger 600 m fra Jingo-ji-templet. Der tilbydes værelser i japansk stil med eget badeværelse og udsigt over floden, samt fælles badeværelse med varmt bad. It is a beautiful location, easily reached by bus and an easy walk. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food is excellent. The walking around the hotel is lovely. The riverside patio is gorgeous. The hotel provided a free shuttle at the end of our stay. We loved everything about this experience.

Momojiya Annex ligger langs Kiyotakigawa-floden og tilbyder traditionelle værelser med eget udendørs bad og udsigt over skoven. Der er offentlige bade og gratis internet via kabel på fællesområderne. If you wanna try a traditional Ryokan hotel, you gotta try it. Though it's far away from the downtown Kyoto, you can reserve free shuttle bus in advance with the hotel. The meals are delicious but what actually makes me impressive is: the fireflies. When the lights are off, you just realize there are thousands of them in the tree. It is absolutely beautiful!

Momojiya of Takao er en rolig traditionel japansk kro langs Kiyotakigawa-floden. Unbeatable staff who do everything to make you feel welcome and taken care of. I was sick for a couple of days while I was here, and felt so looked after! I asked them to put out a futon for me mid day so I could lie down, and they did this with no fuss and brought me a full tea service. On top of that, the private onsen really helped to improve my physical health. Our room was spacious, had great lighting, and we thought the futons were comfy! The dinner service was also magical in every way - make sure you’re hungry by 6 ;)

Ryokan Yamazaki ligger 10 minutters kørsel fra Kinkaku-ji-templet og tilbyder varmt offentligt bad samt morgenmad og traditionelle middage mod tillægsgebyr. I was traveling together with a friend and she preferred to book a place a bit outside of the city. The place is still very accessible by bus (stop is almost in front of the house), or even the tram if (you don’t mind a 15 minutes walk). The staff was very kind and welcoming and you will easily get along with English, if you don’t speak Japanese. The rooms were tidy and comfortable and would also recommend to take the Japanese breakfast in the house. Cannot judge the dinner since we usually returned late and ate somewhere else. Highly recommend the ryokan!
