Offering Japanese-style rooms with river views and an en suite bath, Takao Kanko Hotel is 600 metres from Jingo-ji Temple. This ryokan is situated in beautiful nature. We had a beautiful view of the river from our room and had dinner by the riverside on both nights. Rooms are big, cozy and very relaxing. The whole area is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it. Food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing, best we had in Japan so far. All the staff was absolutely wonderful. They picked us up at the bus station and dropped us at the train, which made the whole trip much simpler. Everything was perfect and we are glad we included this place as a part of our honeymoon stay!

The location, the beautiful surroundings in nature, the exceptional service, the friendly and professional staff. The property was beautiful and the dinner on the river was exceptional.

Dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing, with artistic presentation! Room was spotless and personnel was doing everything timely with smiling friendly attitude.

A 10-minute drive from Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryokan Yamazaki offers a hot public bath and serves breakfast and traditional dinners for an additional fee. Beautiful traditional ryokan with lovely garden in the middle to enjoy. Choice of western or traditional Japanese breakfast. Comfy and very spacious rooms.
