We purposely chose this location to be away from the more busy areas of Kyoto. Logistically, it worked perfect. There is a grocery store across the street. Taxis were easy and convenient and we were also able to walk to the Philosopher’s Path and other areas easily.

Tadashi san even went to a nearby event at the same time as us and was sweet enough to translate for us when we didn't understand directions. The facilities are very nice and very good value for money. The hosts also have very thorough and in my opinion very good advice for local hikes/attractions and restaurants! And the view of the temple from the western style room is phenomenal.
