The staff were amazing, from a warm welcome to thoughtful touches in the room like a hand written welcome card. The room was enormous and so comfy with views of the mountains. The breakfast was truly extraordinary -12 exquisitely prepared small dishes. The rooms are impeccable and there is a nice small lounge with eclectic decor. The location is superb, just out of the tourist fray of Arishiyama and a few steps from the trail along the river bank -- go early in the morning and you will be alone enjoying the pristine forest and river.

Sun Members Kyoto Saga er í aðeins 5 mínútna fjarlægð frá JR Saga Arashiyama-stöðinni með ókeypis skutlu. I’d say this hotel is underrated. We stayed here when we visited places around/near Arashiyama so I won’t say that the location is bad. You just have to plan your trip and map it out. Staff were great, I can speak a little japanese but they can converse well in english, too. Room was great and spacious - and the sunrise view from our balcony was beyond perfect. The building is classic and well-maintained. They have a shuttle going to Saga Arashiyama station, but I don’t mind the 10-15 mins. morning walk.
