Sometimes when a place is so great I am torn between keeping it a secret and shouting its merits from the rooftops. Guess I am going to shout from the rooftops just how very great this property is because they deserve the praise. The staff were AMAZING. Okada went above and beyond to help us out with times, and restaurant recommendations. They gave us a special treat and served us a wonderful breakfast. Everyone was just so nice!! It was quiet, perfect location, clean, and super comfortable. I think it might be my new favorite place to stay.

Renovated in 2014, Hotel Binario Saga Arashiyama offers a restaurant, a café and a public bath. JR Sagaarashiyama Train Station and Torokko Saga Station is just a minutes’ walk away. Booked the room with beds instead of futons, really nice and big room! Breakfast and dinner was amazing, a whole experience! And staff was so nice!

Ideally set in the Ukyo Ward district of Kyoto, Sun Members Kyoto Saga is situated 2.2 km from Arashiama Bamboo Grove, 3.7 km from Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple and 5.6 km from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. I’d say this hotel is underrated. We stayed here when we visited places around/near Arashiyama so I won’t say that the location is bad. You just have to plan your trip and map it out. Staff were great, I can speak a little japanese but they can converse well in english, too. Room was great and spacious - and the sunrise view from our balcony was beyond perfect. The building is classic and well-maintained. They have a shuttle going to Saga Arashiyama station, but I don’t mind the 10-15 mins. morning walk.
