Ive been traveling frequently for the last 10 or so years. This hotel is easily in my top 5 hotels that Ive stayed at. Great service, the rooms are spacious, the location is perfect. Ive had the best sleep in this hotel. This time, I only booked for a night because we were passing by, but the next time I come, Im going to exclusively book this hotel. The staff is really nice and very welcoming. The hotel and the rooms - BY FAR - surpassed my expectations and looked even better in person. Ive gotten used to living in smaller rooms when coming to Japan, so this was a very welcome and surprising change from the standard- loved everything!

Only 5 minutes from JR Saga Arashiyama Station with the free shuttle, Sun Members Kyoto Saga offers Western rooms, free WiFi in all guest rooms and the lobby, and a restaurant. I’d say this hotel is underrated. We stayed here when we visited places around/near Arashiyama so I won’t say that the location is bad. You just have to plan your trip and map it out. Staff were great, I can speak a little japanese but they can converse well in english, too. Room was great and spacious - and the sunrise view from our balcony was beyond perfect. The building is classic and well-maintained. They have a shuttle going to Saga Arashiyama station, but I don’t mind the 10-15 mins. morning walk.

He also provided welcome snacks and departure gifts. The place was clean and beautiful, with a fully equipped kitchen. We loved everything about the stay.

Situated just 3.4 km from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall, Villa Kyoto Saiin provides accommodation in Kyoto with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a housekeeping service. A super landlord very nicely organized everything, and he also made us a wonderful kakigori at night. The house has all the comfort you could imagine. I will be back next time in Kyoto.
