De ruimte was heel groot en gezellig met veel materiaal voor handen. Ik vond het ook heel praktisch dat er een wasmachine was.

I was allowed to check in early and was shown the property and given recommendations on things to do.

Spacious rooms with high ceilings, comfortable beds, terrace with city view, main bedroom view to the park, fully equipped kitchen. All spotlessly clean. Welcome package with two bottles of vine. The location in the very center of the old town. Two blocks away from a big shopping mall with a supermarket.

Dit 4-sterrenhotel in Funchal ligt op slechts 100 meter van de Atlantische Oceaan. Het biedt 5 zwembaden, 4 restaurants en moderne accommodatie met een kitchenette en een balkon. Overall gezien was vooral het appartement helemaal geweldig. Wij vonden het ontbijt en het avondeten enorm tegenvallen. Misschien zijn wij bijzonder. Maar we misten bij het avondeten de friet. Er zat totaal geen variatie in het avondeten. Alles wat je at was prima, smaakte ok, maar het was vooral erg eentonig en elke avond hetzelfde. Wij snakten naar een keer een bordje friet bij je salade. Maar het was aardappelpuree of rijst of iets in die trant. Nee, voor het eten hoef je hier geen halfpension te boeken. Wij zijn daardoor 2 x uit eten gegaan omdat het elke dag hetzelfde was

Vila Marta ligt in São Martinho, op 10 minuten rijden van Funchal. Het biedt accommodatie met een eigen terras en uitzicht op de Atlantische Oceaan en bananenplantages. Vila Marta is perfect for a stay in Madeira, exceptionally clean, welcoming, and the best of the best is the team: Don Joao and Son Bruno. They are the summit of customer orientation, warm, helpful, attentive and available. Could not recommend them more, they are the best!

Het Suite Hotel Eden Mar - Porto Bay ligt in tropische tuinen met uitzicht op de Atlantische Oceaan en beschikt over een buitenzwembad in lagunestijl. We stayed at The Residence hotel, part of the Portobay complex, next to Eden Mar. We were upgraded at check in without being told and it was a nice surprise. The apartment we received was very big, think of a bigger apartment with a “small” hotel room included which had its own bathroom. Everything was very clean and, even though we did not use much of, the kitchenette was equipped with everything necessary for cooking. Beds were comfortable and in good shape even though some of the furniture pieces were showing their age. There were 5 swimming pools available, some indoor (one which allowed for swimming outdoors as well), one of them heated and two were suitable for little children. A gym, indoor and outdoor play areas for kids, as well as a hobby room were all available for free access. A SPA is available, we only went there for a massage that was nice. People are extremely helpful and nice, we really felt really good. On top of everything the included breakfast buffet was very generous, even with sparkling wine available, and one could eat indoors or outdoors on the terrace. We would come back and choose the same hotel without hesitation. Funchal downtown is within walking distance, although maybe this is not an option for everyone a quick taxi ride is also possible. Nevertheless, location is also very good.

I think the name of the guy in the reception was named Hugo. He was excelent, and the welcome we got from Vera at the breakfast was also very Good. The location was also really Good. We brought an 8 months old baby and there was no problem getting around.
