Set amid the shops on Alton's main street "Not to be confused with Alton (the home of Alton Towers) in the Midlands" the Swan Hotel is a historical building that dates back to 1377. Amazingly helpful staff with great service and friendly attitude, warmly decorated, clean rooms. A great location in the middle of Alton. Would definitely be back again.

Situated in spacious grounds, Alton House Hotel is the largest hotel in Alton featuring ample free parking and free Wi-Fi. Alton town centre is just a 5-minute walk. Food was lovely...bed soft and warm cosy room lots of relaxation.. good night sleep and the best sleep I had all year..bath was big enough for a hour tho relax in and lots of reading and quiet day and night..well done Alton house hotel.. highly recommend five 🌟 rating

Located in the small village of South Warnborough and just 15 minutes from the home of Jane Austen, is The Poacher Inn. a perfect small hotel in the middle of the English countryside ! the rooms were very clean and spacious and even though the room looked to the street , it was very quiet ! Breakfast was full English and we enjoyed every bite of it ! we really liked the pub right on the ground floor and it had a wonderful garden to sit outside but its people is always the best asset ! John was a marvellous host , always smiling and friendly and along with his wife , they run together the family business! we enjoyed every moment there , thank you again for your hospitality!

It was at a convenient location for my visit, walking distance to Jane Austen house or Alton. Alternatively you can take the bus. It's cute, tiny, but has everything needed for a short stay. It was quiet during the night. The pub next to it had really good dinner and breakfast, with attentive staff and nice local people hanging out.
