Set amid the shops on Alton's main street "Not to be confused with Alton (the home of Alton Towers) in the Midlands" the Swan Hotel is a historical building that dates back to 1377. Amazingly helpful staff with great service and friendly attitude, warmly decorated, clean rooms. A great location in the middle of Alton. Would definitely be back again.

O The Poacher Inn está localizado na pequena vila do sul de Warnborough, a apenas 15 minutos da casa de Jane Austen. a perfect small hotel in the middle of the English countryside ! the rooms were very clean and spacious and even though the room looked to the street , it was very quiet ! Breakfast was full English and we enjoyed every bite of it ! we really liked the pub right on the ground floor and it had a wonderful garden to sit outside but its people is always the best asset ! John was a marvellous host , always smiling and friendly and along with his wife , they run together the family business! we enjoyed every moment there , thank you again for your hospitality!

It was at a convenient location for my visit, walking distance to Jane Austen house or Alton. Alternatively you can take the bus. It's cute, tiny, but has everything needed for a short stay. It was quiet during the night. The pub next to it had really good dinner and breakfast, with attentive staff and nice local people hanging out.
