The host actually did speak a little bit of English which made it easier to understand questions about the accommodation and to even enjoy the food more (she told us how to eat some dishes together). I also liked that there were only 2 rooms so it felt cozy like staying at home.

The room had incredible views of the snowy mountains, the meals had a lot of fresh, local, and seasonal food, the hot spring was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Close to both Kojo Park Zoo and Zuiryu-ji Temple, Daibutsu Ryokan is situated in Takaoka and has a public bath and garden. This 2-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and a housekeeping service. This place has so much charm. Good food and good service

The location in front of Takaoka Daibutsu was the best. It's a historic inn, nice Japanese style room, and the staff was kind.
