The host is friendly and tried her best to introduce us to the meals she prepared. And staying at a UNESCO designated site for the night is a pretty unique experience.

42 km from Kanazawa Castle in Tonami, Sanrakuen offers accommodation with access to a hot spring bath, spa facilities and public bath. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. Amazing hospitality. Staff were so polite and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. Room with the private bath was great. Really good value for money

Only a 3-minute walk from Unazuki Onsen Train Station, Kurobe Unazukionsen Yamanoha offers Japanese and Western-style accommodations with a flat-screen TV. The faculties were first rate, the food was plentiful, varied and of high standard. The onsen was VERY relaxing. Staff were very helpful, when we had any requests.

At Akaokan, guests can relax in the spacious public hot-spring baths and visit the Historic Villages of Shirakawa-gō and Gokayama, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated a 20-minute drive away. We love the food! There was so much and the quality was good. Also, the bus stop was just outside the property, making it easy to take public transport there. We were able to visit Shirakawa-go and Suganuma World Heritage sites.

Located in the Gokayama hot-spring area, Gokasanso offers Japanese and Western-style accommodations with a flat-screen TV. My view was brilliant from my room. Near a bus stop, be careful of the hill leading up though. The onsen was great. The room was big, in which the bed was comfortable, still the Japanese hard bed though. Staff allowed me to leave all of my luggage before I checked in which was great! Staff were really friendly all around the hotel. Dinner was a traditional Japanese dinner, and had a lot of dishes, the same was with breakfast. A razor, hair band, toothbrush ect were available. You are also given a choice of a small, medium or large yukata. I really enjoyed it here. I highly recommend it.

Located just steps from giant Buddha statue Takaoka Daibutsu, Japanese-style inn Ryokan Daibutsu lies in the heart of historical Takaoka City. All rooms have free Wi-Fi access. I love how the owner in the ryokan has a very warm and welcoming demeanour. Most importantly, the Japanese traditional ryokan experience is beautifully well-preserved. Truly a must-have experience in a lifetime!

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Shiroyamasou is situated in Asahi, 44 km from Toyama-kō and 15 km from Kurobe-Unazukionsen Station. The room was spacious and the facilities were clean and nice. The bathroom was also very comfortabele with a nice onsen bath.

Kadokyu Ryokan is situated in Takaoka, 48 km from Kenrokuen Garden, 20 km from Toyama Station, and 25 km from Toyama-kō. It is located 48 km from Kanazawa Castle and provides a housekeeping service. The location in front of Takaoka Daibutsu was the best. It's a historic inn, nice Japanese style room, and the staff was kind.
