Shokinkan ligger i Yasugi, 27 km fra Shinji-søen, 29 km fra Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum og 25 km fra Mizuki Shigeru Museum. In the middle of the woods. Very calm. I would recommend to calculate at least one hour to walk around the beautiful temple/ shrine area next to it.

Ryokan Nushiya er et 250 år gammelt traditionelt hus beliggende i Edo-perioden, omgivet af den naturskønne skov i det vestlige Shimane. Det ligger midt i en 10.000 m2 stor privat have. This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Hoshi Ryokan tilbyder enkel indkvartering i japansk stil med fladskærms-tv. Hoshi Ryokan is so good that staying there justifies the trip to Tsuwano all by itself. An immense tatami room (actually two, a bedroom and a sitting room) plus a veranda to sit and watch the world go by. The owners are extremely gentle and helpful (they picked us up from the station even if it is only just across the road, just because it was raining so hard) and the breakfast and dinner are well worth having, and not only because there are few other options in town. And you stay in a real family home, the way B&B used to be.

Ohashikan ligger 5 minutters kørsel fra JR Matsue Station og 15 minutters gang fra Matsue-jo Slot. Stunning, authentic and clean room(s), kind and understanding staff who spoke to me slowly in Japanese to assist with checkin, and rules were reiterated in English on documents anyway despite Matsue being relatively rural. Absolutely beautiful view at both night and in the morning, I was shocked! Onsen came free with the stay. Zero complaints, the best stay of our trip around Japan.

Saginoyusou ligger blot 15 minutters kørsel fra Yasugi Station og tilbyder afslappende udendørs varme kilder med udsigt over bjergene i Shimane.

Onsen Guest House Aobato no Su tilbyder indkvartering i Matsue, få skridt fra Tamatsukuri Onsen. Der er gratis WiFi overalt på ejendommen. Der er gratis privat parkering på stedet. Highly recommended guest house. It’s valuable for solo traveler to stay and enjoy the Japanese onsen culture The staff is super nice. They will notice my note and pick up from the JR station. I have lost my watch in the hotel and then the staff help me to deliver it . I really appreciate the help from them.

Mihokan tilbyder indkvartering med havudsigt, have, terrasse og bar, ca. 11 km fra Mizuki Shigeru Road. Overnatningsstedet har døgnåben reception, elevator og gratis wi-fi overalt. So close to the fishing harbour, the room I was assigned was facing it and it was a wonderful view to wake up to every morning there. The room is clean, the futon is very comfortable!

5.4 km from Lake Shinji in Matsue, Hotel Gyokusen features accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and public bath. Top to bottom, I’m traveling 16 days, so far best ever. Old style Japanese Life music to so many choice , fancy dinner, great Onsen to its view. But one day to make other day to female , you can have even you stay a day, either morning or night It worth it every penny. Stay there two days. I did one but already scheduled other town, if you do , please try two days

Noren Yado Meigetsu er en traditionel japansk bygning med gratis WiFi. Hotellet ligger i Tsuwano og er omgivet af bakker. Der tilbydes japansk have og massage. We arrived much later than planned due to the cancellation of several trains because of a typhoon, and were very surprised to see someone waiting for us at the train station with a car. The meals are visually beautiful, very tasty and abundant, the staff is very friendly, the facilities ate simple, traditional and enjoyable
