Nagataki ligger i Nakatsugawa, inom 10 km från Mt. Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Shiroyamakan offers accommodation in Shirakawa, 1.4 km from Shirakawago. Free private parking is available on site. The entire property is non-smoking. I don’t have the words for how absolutely lovely this stay was. This is a family-run ryokan and the family is such a wonderful group of people. They are all so kind and provide wonderful hospitality. They also all speak some English which was helpful for us Canadians. The tour around Shirakawago with the father/owner of the property was so enjoyable. He is such a nice man and I really appreciate his values. He really believes in treating everyone with kindness no matter nationality, ethnicity or beliefs. The breakfast was a classic kaiseki meal (the fish was delicious). Dinner was a wonderful spin on a kaiseki dinner. Everything is locally foraged for or caught or hunted. The youngest son is a hunter. We ate bear and deer tongue. The veggies were locally foraged for in the mountains. The squid we had was caught in the ocean by the father. This was such a once in a lifetime experience. The hot spring bath is really lovely and the futons are really comfortable. I highly, highly recommend this stay. It was a highlight of our trip.

Juhachiro grundades 1860 och ligger vid floden Nagara. Här finns naturliga varma källor både inomhus och utomhus. Hotellet ligger 15 minuters bussresa från Gifus tågstation. The staff is amazing, went above and beyond for us. We had a Japanese style room with a river view, it was great. The dinner was perfect, and so is the Onsen.

Awarded by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice in 2015, Wanosato offers luxurious Japanese-style ryokan stay in a 160-year-old quaint Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof house, nestled in the... Everything! My husband and I can’t thank the team of Wanosato enough. It was such an amazing experience and they were so kind, gentle and thoughtful. One of the highlights - if not THE highlight - of our trip.

Yatsusankan erbjuder boende i traditionell japansk stil med rymliga offentliga bad. Här bor du 6 minuters promenad från tågstationen JR Hidokoukawa. This was such a highlight to my holiday. The mountain view room was excellent and beautiful. Having a private bath was an excellent option due to having tattoos. The relaxation room was tranquil and welcoming. The location is easy to get to and wonderful to stroll through the town and take in the amazing culture. I never wanted to leave and I can't wait to go back.

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. We had such a lovely time at Sumiyoshi Ryokan. The owners were very kind and welcoming. I highly recommend the dinner there which was beyond our expectations and one of the best we have had thus far in our trip in Japan.
