Oyado Koto No Yume ligger blot 2 minutters gang fra Takayama Station og har farverige værelser i japansk stil, kildevandsbade, en restaurant der serverer morgenmad samt gratis wi-fi i hele bygningen. Fantastisk stemning, meget autentisk og enormt hjælpsomt personale. Morgenmaden var overdådig. Helt perfekt ophold.

Iroriyado Hidaya er et nyrenoveret 4-stjernet overnatningssted i Takayama, 1,6 km fra Takayama Station. Der er have, fælles opholdsstue og privat parkering. The staff of Iroriyado Hidaya was exceptionally friendly and helpful, also with regard to our kids; their genuine kindness and hospitality is a memory we will treasure. Using the traditional clothing and onsen was also a one of a kind experience. With our rental car the ryokan was a good exploration base for the surrounding area. And there is a really good authentic restaurant around the corner. If we got a chance in the future we would definitely come again!

Toraya ligger i Gero, 48 km fra Takayama Station og 49 km fra Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. Der er fælles opholdsstue og rolig gadeudsigt. The staff was incredibly helpful. The space is comfortable and clean. The private onsen onsite was great. It is also very conveniently located. Highly recommend!

Nagataki ligger i Nakatsugawa, 10 km fra Toson Memorial Museum og 10 km fra Magome Wakihonjin Museum. Der er have og udsigt til haven. The staff were fantastic and the food amazing not to mention the picturesque area. Would definitely recommend making the trip out there to stay in those amazing houses.

Shiroyamakan ligger i Shirakawa, 1,4 km fra Shirakawago, og har gratis wi-fi overalt. Der tilbydes gratis privat parkering på selve ejendommen. Hele ejendommen er røgfri. I don’t have the words for how absolutely lovely this stay was. This is a family-run ryokan and the family is such a wonderful group of people. They are all so kind and provide wonderful hospitality. They also all speak some English which was helpful for us Canadians. The tour around Shirakawago with the father/owner of the property was so enjoyable. He is such a nice man and I really appreciate his values. He really believes in treating everyone with kindness no matter nationality, ethnicity or beliefs. The breakfast was a classic kaiseki meal (the fish was delicious). Dinner was a wonderful spin on a kaiseki dinner. Everything is locally foraged for or caught or hunted. The youngest son is a hunter. We ate bear and deer tongue. The veggies were locally foraged for in the mountains. The squid we had was caught in the ocean by the father. This was such a once in a lifetime experience. The hot spring bath is really lovely and the futons are really comfortable. I highly, highly recommend this stay. It was a highlight of our trip.

The staff is amazing, went above and beyond for us. We had a Japanese style room with a river view, it was great. The dinner was perfect, and so is the Onsen.

Awarded by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice in 2015, Wanosato offers luxurious Japanese-style ryokan stay in a 160-year-old quaint Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof house, nestled in the... Everything! My husband and I can’t thank the team of Wanosato enough. It was such an amazing experience and they were so kind, gentle and thoughtful. One of the highlights - if not THE highlight - of our trip.

Yatsusankan ligger 6 minutters gang fra JR Hidokoukawa Station og tilbyder indkvartering i traditionel japansk stil med rummelige offentlige bade. This was such a highlight to my holiday. The mountain view room was excellent and beautiful. Having a private bath was an excellent option due to having tattoos. The relaxation room was tranquil and welcoming. The location is easy to get to and wonderful to stroll through the town and take in the amazing culture. I never wanted to leave and I can't wait to go back.

Sumiyoshi Ryokan ligger kun 1 minuts gang fra det populære Miyagawa Morning Market i hjertet af Takayama. Det er indrettet i hjemlig japansk stil i det historiske byhus. Værterne var helt fantastiske! Man følte sig med det samme velkommen, og humøret var højt hver dag. Der blev serveret traditionel japansk morgenmad og Continental. Begge dele var superb! Super dejlig onsen og smukt traditionel ryokan. Helt klart anbefalelsesværdigt!
