Great stay, very clean and amazing Japanese breakfast. Outstanding staff, super helpful and friendly! We loved it! Great addition to be able to reserve a private bath house for 1h at night .

Set within 700 metres of Gero Station and 48 km of Takayama Station, 寅家 Japanese modern hotel offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Gero. Cozy and comfortable; the staff were so kind and welcoming. The onsen was fantastic.

Offering a garden and garden view, Nagataki is located in Nakatsugawa, 10 km from Toson Memorial Museum and 10 km from Magome Wakihonjin Museum. The house and the staff. Such an old school charm and the staff were the friendliest. The price although slightly hefty, Is completely worth it as the dinner is nothing short of 6-course Michelin star.

47 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, Shiroyamakan is a recently renovated property set in Shirakawa and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. This was our second stay here and if I could give it a score of 15 out of 10 I would as 10 out of 10 is not even close to how magnificent the experience at this amazing Ryokan is. The Matsufuru family work so hard together as a team to provide an unforgettable experience. Their warmth and generosity are rare gifts in today’s world and remind you to stop and reflect on the good things in life. The food as always was first class with so much care and attention taken to tell a culinary story of the incredible region from which it was acquired from. Every inch of the Ryokan has been decorated with style and class.We truly are blessed to have found this piece of paradise and tranquility. To Takuya-san, the most incredible man we have ever met and his magnificent family, we will return again one day to our favourite place in Japan. We can never truly thank you enough for this experience.

Fantastic staff that helped us cross the mountains the day when we were leaving, since there were unsafe driving conditions.

Great traditional-style Ryokan. Walking distance from the town and there is on site parking. Large, clean rooms. Ample meals. Both an indoor and outdoor public bath. Right next to a flowing river. Very pleasant staff.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. Clean rooms, beautiful decorations, well trained staff, good quality buffet breakfast.

Michelin key awarded. Awarded by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice in 2015, Wanosato offers luxurious Japanese-style ryokan stay in a 160-year-old quaint Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof house, nestled in the... very authentic, the organisation is excellent and the food is off the charts good.
