Featuring air conditioning, Vila Barca is set in Madalena, within a 10-minute walk from the centre. Free private parking and free WiFi are available. Location was good on the outskirts of town, nice and quiet but not too far The staff was always friendly and helpful. Such nice people! We felt comfortable and at home, and would stay here again.

I was coming from a quite antisocial hostel in São Miguel, so at first I was overwhelmed by how welcoming this place is. You will not leave Loving Strangers without learning a few lessons, making connections and of course, hugs! This is how travel should be, book more than 1-2 nights to really get the best out of it. It’s also super clean, with comfy beds, cool garden, and cute cats.

Objekat Engenho Hostel se nalazi u gradu Lažes do Piko. Sve smeštajne jedinice poseduju flat-screen televizor sa satelitskim kanalima, frižider, aparat za kafu, tuš, fen za kosu i sto. Very nice location, one of the best in Pico, in my opinion. Restaurants, shops, supermarkets. Plenty of parking spaces and a nice view over the ocean :) The house is very clean and equipped with the basics one might need. The communication was very good, at all times there was a phone number available. And the bonus: books! Books everywhere!! Loved this place so much!

The room was absolutely beautiful, large and fully accommodating - the hostess Patricia went over and beyond our expectations, at every request - the location was perfect!

Beautiful, peaceful family run place, the owners have eye for beauty. All details were thought to the last detail. Lush gardens. The owners were extremely kind and provided tips about walking/hiking tips, gave restaurant suggestions etc. All guests had breakfast around one big table. This made the place to feel like home, people to discuss and make new friends. Wonderful experience! Remember to visit the lovely ceramic studio next to the O Zimbreiro, run by a family member. Warmly recommended!

Clean and cosy with a fully equipped kitchen and a large bathroom available. Easy to get here even with the local bus and there's parking available as well. Excellent place for starting a hike. I definitely recommend to stay here.
