Hotel a Madarao Mountain Resort, Iiyama
Renovated in 2016, the beautiful, chalet-like Active Life Madarao offers ski-to-door access from Madarao Kogen Ski Resort, a 3-minute walk away. We had an amazing time spending 5 nights at Active Life Madarao as a group of 8 friends spread across 4 rooms. The rooms were huge compared to any accommodation we've experienced in Japan, very comfy and warm (the ability to open the windows and a space heater to customise the room to the perfect temperature for your preference was great!). Very close walk to the Madarao slopes and the open air hot bath was a perfect way to relax at the end of the day (Remember to bring bathers!). But above all, our host Lisa was such a delight, her exceptional service helped us so much through our time and really made us feel at home during our stay (helping us find alternative instructors when our ski school cancelled on us at the last minute, finding us taxis when the bus routes were altered, organising luggage transfers, and even organising with the chef to make a birthday cake for our mate celebrating his 30th!) Thank you so much!! We will be back 🙂

Great location! Ski in and ski out, plus super close to restaurants and main areas of town. The staff is incredible and super helpful with organizing transportation and any reservations needed.

Located just a 5-minute walk from Happo One Ski Resort, Hakuba Alpine Hotel features simple rooms and outdoor hot spring baths. It is just a 5-minute drive from JR Hakuba Train Station. I loved everything about the accommodation and I would highly recommend to anyone. I tried the Japanese breakfast which was different but I do like my toast with butter and jam!

El personal és acollidor i amable tot i no tenir domini d'anglès. Està a 20 min caminant de l'estació de tren i a 7 min del centre de Nagano. Te bona conexió si es vol anar al parc de les monelles (Jigokudani). Van ser uns 24€/persona.
Best place we stayed ever. Rooms are spacious and amazing mountain view. Loved the breakfast and the venue.
The buffet menu and cosy onsen
Rooms were spacious and clean for 2 persons. Onsen was nice. View of Lake Megami from room was superb.
The cabin we booked was quaint and well furnished. It’s also situated very conveniently beside the main shopping district. Shuttle buses were frequent and present to take us around.
Beautiful location , Saw snow monkeys munching on chestnuts on the street just around the corner from the hotel so cool, if you have time check out the Wasabi farm down the valley it is very interesting, l loved our time in this part of our Japan tour
The staff was very friendly and welcomed us. They put so much effort, we felt well treated. We loved the food so much, it was the best and premium food! They even took care of our allergies!
The rustic cottage is in beautiful area and very clean and comfortable. The host and his wife were wonderful and so hospitable. They are some of the nicest people we have met on our trip! They even came to pick us up at the station and drove us to a late lunch after when they found out we had a long day and hadn’t eaten. We also enjoyed the peaceful surroundings! Thank you so much for making our stay for our son’s graduation at ISAK even more memorable😃
