This location was good for touring Angelsey and North Wales. There was an excellent restaurant overlooking the Staits called Dylan’s’ my wife’s comment was that it was the best salmon she had tasted. There was a recommendation that “The Liverpool Arms located in St. George’s Rd, also had an excellent menu and was not your usual pub grub. This area was quite lively in the evening and popular with locals and tourists. The weather was hot which really helped.
The hotel we stayed in is not in Chirk. We stayed in Gledrid, outside of Weston Rhyn, Shropshire. Chirk is a couple of miles up the road and over the border in Wales ! We didn't visit chirk so can't comment.
A lovely part of Wales, good facilities & access to the coastal walks & strangely we found a field on one walk with water buffalo in it, not what you expect looking out of a gorse thicket !!
.Llandudno is a nice old fashioned seaside resort. The bottom of the town is flat and therefore suitable for older people. The top of the town is very steep so those less fit should be careful of where you stay. There is a huge range of hotel a guest houses so plenty to choose from. Llandudno has plenty of shops . For attractions you have the beachs and pier, the Great Orme tramway and cable car and all the usual seaside entertainments. Llandudno is central for visiting Snodonia and many other places along the North Wales coast with bus trips for those without personal transport.
We took our dog with us and the places to walk with her were both accessible and scenic. I would never tire of exploring. It is also a good base for accessing North Wales both mountain and coast.
Cardigan is a very picturesque area of Wales, especially around the river Teifi estuary ideal for walks. Cardigan town has lots of choice for dining out, and pubs to satisfy all tastes. Especially recommend The Cliff hotel and restaurant for a meal, or just a drink while relaxing with great views over Cardigan bay, about 2 miles from town centre.
Clean town with good wide promenade. Plenty of local shops to look round and a variety of restaurants. Good nightlife with live entertainment. Hotels to suit every budget. Also, plenty of nearby attractions within easy driving distance. A good place to use as a base to explore North Wales
The George Borrow Hotel is situated in a beautiful area of Wales with a stunning and dramatic landscape. We spotted Red Kites soaring on the thermals from our bedroom window! Well situated to visit the lovely historic towns of Mid Wales. The Hotel is on the coaching road to Aberystwyth where we spent a wonderful sunny day by the sea in this traditional seaside town.
It’s a tradional seaside venue, it has some interesting features relating to Victorian times. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles. The shops are ok, some seem to close early. Llandudno is well situated for exploring North Wales and Snowdonia
The Llandudno and Conwy area is a great place for long weekend or longer if exploring North Wales.Stunning scenery in the area ....Conway estuary.. Snowdonia ..coastline. Llandudno has kept most of their Victorian architecture a great plus for the town.Fresh fish is a must to eat here. Loved it we will be back
We had a fantastic stay at the Crown Hotel. It's a historic and charming place, the rooms were warm and super clean, and the beds were super comfy. One of our bookings was the Studio Apartment and I was pleasantly surprised at how big both the rooms were and that they both had ensuites. Breakfast was nice and the staff are all very lovely and welcoming. Corwen itself is small and quiet but there are a few restaurant options for dinner and a lovely Estate and farm shop very nearby. Will definitely stay here again when visiting North Wales!
Cardigan
Travelling through South Wales so only stayed one night but would return and recommend. Hotel is exceptionally beautiful, what a treat to find this place. Our room was stunning and I could have lived in the spacious bathroom! The bed was so comfortable. Everything was clean and fresh. The view amazing, overlooking the gardens. Beautifully prepared breakfast and locally sourced food in the dining room listening to relaxing music. A perfect base to visit Cardigan and some of the amazing beaches which are unspoiled.
Saundersfoot
A real gem. We were touring Wales for several weeks and stayed in 7 different Guesthouses/Hotels. Woodlands was our #1. Sue & Dave very obviously enjoy operating their business. Home tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable. The Breakfast options were numerous and excellently prepared . Parking in front was a bonus as was the lovely garden and the guest lounge containing an abundance of well presented information on the attractions in the area.
Aberaeron
Excellent location, free parking lot across the street. Our room was compact but had everything we could need and more including the smallest fridge I’ve ever seen! The Alexa speaker was a great addition. The bed was comfortable, Wi-fi great and the breakfast is amazing. Staff very friendly & helpful. My husband and I were travelling in Wales and stayed in 7 different Guest Houses/Hotels. The Arosfa was one of our best choices.
atmosphere in the hotel excellent, staff wonderful, rooms spotless and great value. Friendly, fun, warm welcome. Breakfast superb, lunches great and good value too. Great local beers and of course the usual favourites. Loved the biker themed decor and the whole ethos of the place. cant wait to go back again. If you,re a biker and want to base yourself somewhere while you explore Wales this place is def worth a stopover visit
Staying at Flambards Hotel was a lovely stop on our road trip through Wales. We had a warm greeting and our room had been readied for us. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the breakfast room was a standout. Ordered the night before, it was freshly made and served at the appointed time. Suggestions for dinner were well advised as were other recommendations for local visits. So glad we found this B&B.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyll
The Penrhos Arms Hotel was perfectly located for the start of my visit to six of The Great Little Trains of Wales, see the Britannia Bridge, as well as the the famed station sign. The room I stayed in is the room above the porte cochére, in the pictures of the hotel, and was roomy, clean & quiet, dispite facing the road. The staff also accommodated my request for a full breakfast despite having to catch an 08:30 am train.
Brecon
The Hotel was located in a perfect location in Brecon. As well as being a Beautiful Hotel with great rooms and brilliant staff, the food and drink were also amazing. I had been traveling around Wales for 2 weeks prior to arriving in Brecon and my final day was spent walking from Brecon to Merthyr via Pen Y Fan. The Wellington was a perfect Hotel to spend my last night on The Road in at the end of a long trip.
Beaumaris
Location was perfect for exploring North Wales. We were only 30 minutes from the base of Snowdon and the surrounding areas. The area where the apartment was, had various restaurants, bars, cafe's and the best bakery. Everything you needed was on your doorstep. The host Fergal was very informative and great recommendations for things in the area. Apartment had everything needed for our short stay.
Air conditioned hotel was a perfect location for our short golf trip. Breakfast was delicious as were the evening light bites. Pool and spa were excellent and clean. Staff were fantastic, everyone we spoke to were helpful and happy in their work! Lovely fox appeared at night as well 😁❤️ Will definitely be looking to book another weekend trip and sample some more of the South Wales hospitality.
The Teifi Waterside Hotel was a special piece of luck. Western Wales was our plan, no idea where to go. Cardigan, cute town, coastal vistas. The Waterfront Hotel has a spectacular location, amazing views. Impressive (large) rooms, good bar/restaurant and easy onsite parking. Walked in, loved it, booked extra night. Staff were great, good service & local knowledge.
Conwy
An amazing hotel with excellent hosts. Graham and Delyth could not have been more accommodating and Charlie was a cutie! The room was large, well appointed and beautifully decorated. The views from our room were stunning. The breakfast were very generous and a sumptuous delight. Whenever we return to North Wales we will be staying at the Y Llew Coch hotel for sure!
Hotel telephoned me at approx 1pm to say Thier boiler had broken. I could Xfer to their sister hotel - The County or cancel my booking. As I was already in Wales I couldn't cancel The County Hotel was ok except that the cleaning staff kept coming into my room before I had checked out! 08.45 and 09.15. I left at 09.30 but check out time is 10.00.
I was staying in Manor Parc Hotel for one night during a work trip in Wales. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, room was nice, clean. The sheets were nice and it has basically everything you might need in a short stay. The breakfast was really nice - the food was goood and pletiful and the space itself is beautiful.
Rhayader
We are a group of motorcycling friends who love touring on Wales. This was our forth year we have used Delfryn Cottage.is very well suited for touring, facilities are good safe parking off road for our Bikes. We eat our evening meals at the Elan Hotel in the evenings. Excellent place to stay. Would definitely recommend it.
Very quaint hotel. Had a very nice rustic charm. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The bar area was very charming. This hotel is the perfect way to experience southwestern Wales. There are a lot of shops and restaurants/pubs within walking distance, and a short drive to Marloe Sands beach, which is beautiful!
the Hotel had only been open for a matter of weeks and there where still small signs of development works going on, the staff could not of been more helpful. They where friendly and helpful. We will be very much looking forward to going back.I wish them all the best for the future. regards Graeme Morgan from Mid Wales
Location and surreal Italian village located in beautiful and picturesque Wales was odd but stunningly well done. We stayed in the "Dome" which had a huge room and bathroom. We didn't use the swimming Pool down by the Hotel but did have the 7 meal taster menu which was superb overlooking the estuary.
Llangollen
A very nice cottage in a peaceful setting. Ideally placed to explore North Wales. The Britannia pub is a short walk away as is the Chainbridge Hotel. Both good for food. We really enjoyed our stay and I can recommend it for a short break away. Good value and lovely hosts. Thank you. Best regards. Clive
We loved the fact that it was an easy walk into town and parking at the hotel was more than adequate. We also were very pleased with the breakfast and the pub food. The breakfast was excellent and so elegant. The food at the pub was the best we had in England and Wales.
