The Management Centre, hotel in Bangor

Set in an Edwardian building, this guest accommodation has a restaurant, coffee shop and free Wi-Fi access.

Great location on University campus. Up high with great views of the Menai Straits and Anglesey. Generous parking facilities. Friendly, helpful reception and restaurant staff. Great breakfast (sausages were fantastic- best I've tasted anywhere in recent years 😋). Nice bar and restaurant facilities. Rooms were warm and water is hot - you don't always get that even in some of the best hotels. Felt like a very safe and secure place with access to town within walking distance.

The Slate, hotel in Bangor

The Slate is located in Bangor, North Wales, featuring an on-site restaurant and bar. Free WiFi and free private parking is available.

From our arrival to departure, the standard of Staff, facilities, food, and drink was outstanding. Although we only stayed for one night, it was the perfect place to stop over after a 7-hour drive. We will most definitely be returning. The evening meal and breakfast were some of the best food we have eaten in a long time.

This is in a beautiful village location. The cottage is cosy and incredibly clean. Lots of information about the local area. As the owner of a cleaning business that deals with airbnbs, I would highly recommend this cottage. Unbelievably peaceful, perfect for the get away that we were looking for. Thank you

Disappointing, very run down with lots of empty shop units. Easy to park. Very few shops overall. Could be a lovely location but needs investment to improve the area. A shame as I am sure a lot of tourists would visit if it had more to offer.

There is some interesting architecture and the pier but Bangor itself feels a bit rundown. Really struggled to find good places to eat and drink. However, it's a great location for exploring the wider area.

Not much going on but we only used it as a strategic location. i woukld not go there just to see bangor. Didn't seem like much was going on. we didn't see enough of Bangor to give a full review but on what i did see, i would not go back, not even as a strategic location for access to wales.

The main part of the town is very run-down, lots of empty shops, dirty, lots of rubbish in the streets. We have only been to the bus station at Bangor before, not stayed there, but will definitely not visit again. There are better shops and pubs closer to the train station at the other end of the town.

The pier is beautiful -and it always seems to be sunny with blue skies . The walk up by the side of the pier to the management centre is lovely . Just over menai bridge to the left is church island to walk round -along the Menai straits -with beautiful sunset views .menai is to the right -again lovely walks under the bridge . Everywhere is close to drive to - Beaumaris - with its pier and castle is not far away . Penrhyn castle is a lovely day out -as are cadnant gardens and plas newydd -you can definitely fill a week easily . Conwy and caernarvan are at each side -lovely days out-castles and steam trains . I could fill a fortnight - longer even ! A great place to visit .

Being from the USA, Bangor, and Wales in general are SO beautiful and the people are so nice and kind. We love being able to travel here. Being that were visiting in December, a number of the typical tourist spots were closed for the season. However, we made the most of it. This included a trip to Wrexham, Mold, Caenafron, and other locations. If you are an American travelling there and you're renting a car, it would be a good idea to have someone in your party who can drive stick. We rented a car from Enterprise in Holyhead and even though we were promised an automatic transmission car (Bangor and North Wales are quite hilly) we wound up with a manual transmission. They they would replace it, but could not. Luckily I knew how to drive stick. Also, a number of roads are narrow so take your time.

Smallish but comfortable room, with a great view over the lawns and Straits! Serviceable bathroom, plenty of hot water etc, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast (buffet-style). Friendly and helpful staff. Easy check-in. Bangor is close enough to the North Wales attractions for this accommodation to be considered when visiting Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon, the coast, etc.

I like our friendly and helpful host Bryan who gave us a lot of useful advice on places to visit such as a small little lake nearby called Llyn Idwal which turned out to be our favourite place during North Wales visit. The room is not the newest but quite spacious and the bed is very big and comfortable. Last but not least, the breakfasts are superb.

Beautiful part of Wales, stunning scenery. Location was very quiet and peaceful. Greeted and warmly welcomed with a delicious homemade Bara Brith by the owner. Great value for money. Have booked accommodation next door for next holiday as this one is booked up. Looking forward to returning 😀
