Gloucester
I love this place. It is literally my favourite place to stay in the UK. I travel to Gloucestershire regularly for business and have stayed in many hotels in the area. This one is the best by far. The staff are wonderful, the spa is amazing, the rooms are very comfortable, the food in the restaurant is incredible and they even have electric car charging! It's honestly the perfect hotel for me!
The Amberley Inn is in a beautiful location just off Minchinhampton common. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with pastries, fruit pots, local yoghurts, and freshly cooked English breakfast with Gloucestershire black spot sausage and bacon, mushroom, fried bread and poached egg. I enjoyed evening meal there too with the seafood gumbo.
The grounds are magnificet and very well maintained Good buffet breakfast, good dinner, bar. Rooms could do with a bit of work, partly because the hotel is so vast and the upkeep must be an enormous task, but the facilities are basically very nice. Welcoming for dogs. In a lovely part of South Gloucestershire.
A lovely, character, country house hotel, perfectly situated to explore Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.
No breakfast available but the location was fine and easy to get around Gloucestershire from the hotel
Beautifully appointed, perfectly located with amazing helpful staff.
I could fawn and swoon over our room all day long! It was so quaint and cute, and comfortable with great view of the gardens. Upon our arrival, we learned that it was also the oldest original house in Bourton-on-the-water (?) which made it all the more a special experience to stay in this specific hotel. We didn't eat at the restaurants (there were so many options around Bourton (but do try to book in a day in advance for a table during the summer!), but there was a nice sheltered bar area in the garden with toilets both close by the bar area and in the lounge. These two places (the bar area and the lounge, not the toilets) were my favourite spots as an artists to spend a few hours drawing and write. I wish I could've have stayed longer for this purpose alone!) The staff also helped prepare our room and let us in early when we arrived earlier than 3pm.
Nature around the hotel is beautiful. Room was very big and spaceous, super comfy bed and pillows. Exceptional breakfast. Restaurant food is also very tasty.
It was an amazing experience. Very friendly staff at reception, the bar and the restaurant. Room was amazing, Especially as we were lucky to be upgraded for free to an even nicer room. (i was not allowed to say this) Thank you for our stay
We visited as a group of friends to celebrate a silver wedding anniversary.. stunning views from our apartment, and the housekeeping team decorated the apartment, which was amazing. Made our weekend . Breakfast excellent value, afternoon tea was perfect. Reception staff very helpful when trying to plan the weekend to make it one to remember.
Location was excellent, right on Moreton’s High Street, and close to shops and restaurants (although the food was so great there is no real need to venture outside). The staff were extremely friendly, and made our short Cotswolds road trip one to remember (parking lot access was great -right behind the hotel, through a beautiful garden), we’ll be sure to come back!
Stunning hotel - the design of the rooms and the main areas is exquisite, everything is thought through. The restaurant and cocktail bar are great, breakfast was very good as well. The spa is lovely and the working hours are quite long but try to book the treatments in advance as it gets busy. You can also walk around beautiful lake, river and the forest located at the hotel grounds. In short, it's a gorgeous hotel - you won't be disappointed.
Breakfast very good Room a little small but very very clean
A MUST hotel! Everything was just incredible, Lovely and welcoming staff, our room was incredible and well equipped, the food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious! Great location close to all towns and the building was miraculously beautiful and well preserved. Thank you Kevin and all the team!
The setting was beautiful and the property was very clean and welcoming.
