I feel I have to mention the very high standard of food. Its not the run of the mill bar food here. Its food fitting of a Manor house. I only wish we had stayed longer to try everything on the menu. All very reasonably priced as well. Real ale behind the bar and an open log fire. Large selection of drinks and food all day and the breakfast was spot on. Whether you are looking for a place to stay or after a meal with a proper local feel then you won't be let down if you give the Manor House a try. Well worth a visit.

The Royal Oak doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but don't be fooled by that - the room we had was large, clean and comfortable with lovely views over open fields. It was one of the best places we stayed during our six-week tour, and we would have liked to have had more than one night there. The beds and pillows were just right, and it was quiet overnight so we got a good night's sleep. We had a very good evening meal and breakfast in the pub. The landlady was friendly and helpful, and even got two burly lads at the bar to take our suitcases upstairs for us!

Situated 5 minutes’ drive from the County Durham coastline, The Seaton Lane Inn - The Inn Collection Group features free on-site parking and is just over 10 miles from Durham city centre. Lovely country pub had everything you needed, food was lovely, staff were great, we rented a car only 5 mins from the beach

The Kingslodge Inn - The Inn Collection Group offers a cosy bar, a restaurant and easy access to Durham city centre. There is free parking on-site. I liked the young, warm, and friendly staff. My room was very comfortable; also, I ate most of my meals here and they were good. Durham, was a bit overwhelming for my first time, but members of the staff helped me get oriented so that I could walk to the train station and the cathedral. Both were easy enough to get to for anyone who is used to walking a bit. I would recommend this place.

We loved our stay here . They could not do enough for us . The rooms were really comfortable. They even prepared a Gluten free breakfast . The staff were really friendly and helpful and breakfast lovely . Would not hesitate in recommending as a place to stay .
