The host gave me very warm welcome. The staff offered me help when he saw me carried large lagguage. The room was very nice, which has two window facing the garden. It also warm and clean. The bar downstaire was super nice. I enjoied my stay in the hotel.

Lovely stay right between the city center and Durham university. Rooms were really cosy. They don't serve breakfast. But Durham is small and cafes are in walking distance.

A family run business who make you feel warm and welcome from the time you book until you leave. The location is perfect as a base for exploring the local area. I feel I have to mention the very high standard of food. Its not the run of the mill bar food here. Its food fitting of a Manor house. I only wish we had stayed longer to try everything on the menu. All very reasonably priced as well. Real ale behind the bar and an open log fire. Large selection of drinks and food all day and the breakfast was spot on. Whether you are looking for a place to stay or after a meal with a proper local feel then you won't be let down if you give the Manor House a try. Well worth a visit.

Situated in Middleton in Teesdale, Forresters Bar & French Restaurant with Rooms has a terrace, bar and free WiFi. There is a restaurant serving French cuisine, and free private parking is available. Lovely location. Ended up having a good few drinks with the staff and locals. The food was excellent (although they don't serve food on Mondays and Tuesdays) we even filled two flasks of their soup to take away with us.
