It is right across the lake so you can enjoy swimming and the sunsets. Daniella & Tony are very welcoming and friendly. We had a very delicious breakfast made by Daniella. Their property is also so great, there are all types of animals running around and you can pick fresh mangoes from their mango tree. They were also kind enough to let us leave some of our luggage so that we could rent a scooter more easily and travel around the island.

La Urraca Loca Hostel tiene jardín, terraza, restaurante y bar en Balgue. El alojamiento dispone de zona de barbacoa y se encuentra a 12 km de Volcán Maderas. Great location in Balgue and the place is surrounded by nature, and despite this it is very clean. The owners are super kind and you can sense their love for this place. Tasty breakfast (homemade bread) and food available at the hostel (good italian food for lunch and dinner as one of the owners is Italian!). They were happy to provide advice and information on what to do in the area. Communal space upstairs was amazing and relaxing. The chickens running around the garden was giving exactly the vibes you get around Ometepe Island. Loved it here.

Hostel Life is Good está en Moyogalpa, a 39 km de Volcán Maderas, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. I loved the atmosphere of the hostel. In the evening time they had candles everywhere and lights. It was so beautiful. They also have a lookout place where you can see the volcano during the day and stars at night time. It was a super quiet and chill place. They also had kitties which is a big bonus.

Cocos Hostel está en Moyogalpa y tiene jardín. Hay terraza, wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. En el albergue, todas las habitaciones cuentan con un patio con vistas a la montaña. The host! She is amazing!! She helped us with everything, we got sick and she literally took care of us. The location is great and the rooms are big enough with private bathroom, the breakfast was amazing as well.

Rainbow Caravan Hostel está en Las Pilas, a 17 km de Volcán Maderas, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y restaurante. The place was very clean and tidy, tranquil, and no noise at night which is rare in Nicaragua because there's always someone making some noise. The food was quality, homemade vegan goodness. Making a fire was cool and it has all the modern amenities like a fridge and cooking equipment so you can bring beer. Didn't have any bugs unlike some of the other hostels i stayed in on Ometepe. It's quite a good location equidistance between the two towns and near the start of Volcan Concepción. I recommend renting an ATV rather than a scooter at the port and picking it up in Ometepe, don't trust the people on the San Jorge side. The hostel also offers scooter rental although I picked mine up at port. Very photogenic hostel and peaceful.

B&B, family run homestay, Hospedaje La Penita se encuentra en Altagracia, a 16 km de Volcán Maderas, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.

Hostal Casa Moreno tiene piscina al aire libre, jardín, salón de uso común y terraza en Moyogalpa. Este albergue de 3 estrellas ofrece wifi gratis y bar. Sofía y las demás chicas fueron super amables y orientaron al grupo en todo momento. Sin duda volvería.
