Offering a garden and garden view, Lake Front Yala Safari is located in Kataragama, 18 km from Tissa Wewa and 18 km from Situlpawwa. We stayed for two nights. The room was very spacious and clean. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always ready to help us with anything we needed! They even gave us mangoes and coconuts picked from their garden, and both were absolutely delicious! We ended up going on a safari with them, which turned out to be the highlight of our time in Sri Lanka! It was a one-day safari where we saw two leopards, elephants, and many other animals. They also prepared lunch for us, which we enjoyed by the ocean. We had an amazing time. Their little puppy was so cute and lively—we absolutely adored him! We would gladly return in the future.

Located in Bibile, 46 km from Maduru Oya National Park, Nobel Regency provides accommodation with a garden and free private parking. The property features garden views. the entrance to the Regency is unusual as it is behind the main buildings along the street and you go through an underpass to get there. however once there, it feels like you are on a tiny island away from the lively city center. The owner, Ruin, is a man who knows how to answer your questions honestly and accurately. He knows the area and is motivated to create a friendly comfortable, clean, and safe hotel environment. You also have privacy, good food, and can lounge outside under shady roofs. the rooms are spartan but clean and have internet viable monitors. the price including an excellent breakfast was about 11 EUs. Ruin helped my son get a nice pair of pants because my son had ripped his jeans. He also helped arrange a tuk tuk to take us to an old friend of mine who was living in the region. This is an A+ hotel in spirit and actuality. Each room has its own fairly private area where you can stretch out and read a book under a shady roof.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Hotel Serugahawatta is set in Wellawaya. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Even though hotel is located by the Ella-Wellawaya road, the location is very calm. Construction wasn't done in some parts of the facility. But the available rooms were at good standard. Good value to your money.

Located just 36 km from Kataragama Temple, Forest Tree Top Holiday Resort provides accommodation in Buttala with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as a 24-hour front desk. Amazing place!!! The host is just the sweetest, and offers an amazing safari to Yala at much cheaper than third party websites, and he grew up spotting animals so you are in good hands (we even saw a leopard!). I cannot recommend this place more, it is quite special!

A nice boat trip on the lake early in the morning I want to say something not indicated, about the safari proposed by the owner, it's 15000 rps but for the couple. The owner knows the place where elephants can come in the evening The homestay is really clean and food well cooked If you take the time to stop at this homestay, you will not regret Thanks to Admeet, very kind and helpful

Boasting a terrace with garden views, free bikes and a garden, Kataragama Homestay can be found in Kataragama, close to Kataragama Temple and 18 km from Situlpawwa. The guestrooms are separated from the house, so you have all the privacy. The rooms are basic but very beautiful and authentic - I really loved the room, the supercomfy bed and pillow. Srilankan breakfast is prepared on wood and was really good. The lady Karunawathi is very sweet. I was so happy I could use their bicycle (for free). I went all over Kataragama, probably I did more than 50km by footbike! For me it's the best way of discovering a place.

This is one of the most unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and you can spend quite a while wandering the property and looking at all the quirky artwork. I would highly recommend staying in for dinner one night as the food was exceptionally delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful too! They organized our safari ride as well as Tuk Tuks into town. The rooms are a bit on the rustic side, but it adds to the fun experience!

The location is excellent and very convenient. If you are planning to visit Kataragama and its surrounding places, the location of this hotel is ideal. People can save a lot of their time. The staff is very friendly and supportive. The food is delicious and affordable.Environment of the place is very nice and it gives the jungle vibe for nature enthusiasts. Overall a very nice place.
